Busy day for me today getting ready for craft fair tomorrow. Cakes all crumb coated and in the fridge waiting for the fondant to be put on. Tried making cake pops again but failed as usual just cant seem to get the chocolate coating right so gave up on that one all spare cake crumbs now in the bin :(

Got to pop to Asda now to as forgot to get my mini cup cake cases yesterday and the trays for my tray bakes. Had a long day yesterday 12hr shift at the day job then home at 8 to start baking

Hope you all have a great weekend xx

Good luck for tomorrow Nannyto9 you've got a long day ahead of you. Won't help you today but have you tried candy melts? They are a little thick when first melted but dilute a little with vegetable oil (sounds disgusting but works) I do love cake pops but they are fiddly for a mouthful of cake although would be an instant seller at a cake sale I would imagine.

I've dragged my sleepy self out of bed to look bright n fresh for the lady that's picking the cake up at ten only to find shes not coming til eleven:(

Not really pleased with this creation cos its similar to one I've done before that they'd seen. I didnt really like it in the first place cos it was tailored to my take on the recipients taste (tacky). I get bored easily and don't like to repeat but my daughter mentioned I can't just make cakes that I like! ( why not!!)
Need a few days to come up with my creations remembering what I like:)

I'm livid:mad: The order I placed including 2.5kg of white chocolate sugarpaste hasn't arrived like it was meant to this morning after paying £17.99 for delivery to have it here today, the delivery place stops delivering on 12 on saturdays.According to the tracking it's not even made it to my city yet :(

If I'm lucky it may turn up on monday...that gives me a lot of time doesn't it :'(

    • upload your image to photo bucket of flicker whichever one you prefer.
    • I usually resize so them so they are not so big
    • Copy the img code from photobucket and put it in your post and that will show the image on your post.

I know what you mean about cake pops and they would be a brilliant seller at shows I do use candy melts but just cant seem to have tried a couple of times now, but will not give up as am so fed up of throwing cake away when I do carvings.
  • Hi shegirl. What I usually do with my cake is I brush it with sherry. Some poke it with holes (I don't! ;) ) some covers it with marzipan then brush with alcohol but me i just brush it directly onto the cake and it's fine. That's enough for me. :) Yeah I will try to sell few this coming Father's Day. I'll try to sell to my colleagues as well. :)) x

Nannyto9Thank you for letting me know about your moulds. x

We don't have anything like hobbycraft down here :(

If worst comes to worst I'll grab some Dr Oetkers regalice up the shop and use that but do some white chocolate buttercream.Don't have any paste colours left though so would have to colour it with liquid colouring which makes a mess with that icing :(

I'll get it done one way or another!Just hope this stuff arrives monday morning or something so I can rush and do it the way planned.Otherwise,I also have loads of stuff I can't return-order including delivery was £60.The candle were in the order too
