not bad compared to 8 sets of cake tins that I bought last week. It arrived yesterday and quite pleased about it considering that it cost me 131 quid
Agggh! My problem now is where to keep it...

That sounds like a big buy what did you buy and where did you get them from. Are they Wilton ones. Sorry about all the questions I need to buy a set of round & a set of square myself. I keep borrowing pans really need sets of my own.0 -
I just got a set of stainless steel round Invictus tins from https://www.cake-stuff.com for less than £39.50. It's a 6, 8, 10 and 12". If you want to start selling then you have to use Stainless Steel equipment now.0

The site's been down for two days nowWas going to place an order with them as they do good prices on bulk sugarpaste and marzipan purchases, but had to go elsewhere or nothing would be here in time to do the cake for tuesday lol

They are cheaper but really slow. I placed an order last Saturday and it got shipped today. I suppose it's not that slow but when I've ordered from cakes, cookies and crafts shop, I've never waited more than 2 days. Cake Stuff have an eBay shop too x0

When did this become law I have been selling for ages now and most of the time use silicone as the letter cakes are my biggest seller and they dont make them in stainless steel. I also use sillicone for my giant cupcakes as prefer them to the metal ones0 -

I'm not 100% sure when Nannyto9. A girl that lives nearby has recently started up her cake decorating and when she got her inspection from the council he told her that all her tins and mixing bowls had to be stainless steel. I can't find the post right now but I'll find out for you!
I don't suppose anyone will ever know that you're using silicone anyway.
I haven't seen any stainless steel tins apart from the usual shapes, round, sqaure etc. Most of the shaped ones come in aluminium x0 -

Probably a good job I didn't order from them then
Had a very long tiring day but had to get started on bits ready for ds birthday on tuesday so done the lettering to stick to ds cake, made the stars to put on wire and coloured the sugar numbers (decided to go for numbers instead of space invaders topper as he wants numbers somewhere lol) and should probably crack on with some more while he's at the respite centre for the night, but I'm shattered!
So,still got the 3 cakes to make and decorate -make the space invaders to stick on too,got to make 3 breads (red, blue and green) as I daftly asked if he'd like me to make Tetris shaped sandwiches:rotfl:(obviously he said yes. They'll be fun to cut....),make marzipan Chao's (sonic characters),Yoshi biscuits and Pacman cakepops or marshmallows or even some kind of lolly thing lol
I've got until tuesday so will be busy late every night 'til then as he needs constant supervision and is only in school 2 and a half hours a day (severely autistic).
So can I afford to just relax tonight?:rotfl: I always end up tired on the run up to his birthday and have a heap of stuff to do as I like to make his party as fun and special as possible for him as no family bother coming (dad ran off with another woman in feb, including running from our son, so he won't be here either) and due to his disability he doesn't have friends or really understand the concept. So,I tend to go a bit mad,end up rather run down, but it'll be worth it to see him enjoying itJust bloody shattered and having a 'what have I let myself in for?' moment:o:o:rotfl::rotfl:
Oh,it's an arcade theme party incase you hadn't guessed -he's obsessed with computers and consoles and has a thing for the retro ones!If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

Me tooShegirl, although you sound like a supermum
I'm moaning for the sake of moaning! Ha
I thought the cocoform was gonna work out expensive:( It's ok for decorations tho. Used the chocolate flavoured icing the smell alone is fab:)
Just finished the two tier birthday cake for tomorrow (although it's now tomorrow!!) It's been collected at ten so I can get a couple of hours sleep.
Can't help you Nat with the light fruit cake I've never done one- I've done plenty of dark fruit cakes ( love that they've gotta be made at least three months in advance ) gives plenty of time for decorations etc even for me!The secret of Christmas
