I just love the cakes on this thread, they are all great. Just signed up to do a one day cake decorating course. I am really nervous but looking forward to it. If I like it and get on okay going to enrol at the college in September for a 20 week course. Will post pics

Moosetastic that cake is gorgeous no wonder your colleagues didnt want to cut it its fantastic.
Sharalee99 your cupcake look so yummy. Which nozzle have you used? I'd love to give it try.

Nat how you getting on. Been thinking of you on nights trying to sleep in this weather:( How you getting on?

Becs you'll be fine - my advice leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy it. It's just like playdoh :-)

  • Hi Guys another lurker here........

I have been lurking since the very first post and i have loved everyones cakes and cupcakes.

I did my first cake in january and have since done another 2 and did my first cupcakes in february and have done loads since.

I have a pressing question which is bugging the life out of me - how do you colour your buttercream without it curdling or seperating. I have used supermarket food colouring and the food colouring paste but my buttercream goes nasty.
    I have 2 gorgeous kids :D

    Hi!

Everyones cupcakes look really good, I love the different toned icing!
I haven't posted any pictures for ages, I will get round to it at some point!

Just wanted to ask you a question, I'm making my boyfriend a birthday cake tomorrow, I keep seeing that plain yogurt makes the cake more moist, but I have no idea how much to put in!
I'm doing a 8 oz cake mixture, does anyone know how much yogurt I should put in?

    Thankyou!

For half I used the 1M and other half were 2D. Taking them to work today, hoping people will donate some ££ for them, for Cancer Research UK....I'll let you know how I get on :D
