The children cycle on the paths and the car keeps getting scratched. Doesnt sound like he is parking on the road at all. Sounds like he is parking on verge/pavement.

How do you come to that conclusion?? Cars that are parked on the road are generally parked right next to the pavement, pavements in general aren't 12 ft wide. Two kids on bikes coming towards each other may not have enough room to pass sufficiently so one of them goes too close to the car scratching is that really so hard to understand.

The OP has said he is parking on the road so why the need for a wild assumption, you may aswell say the OP is scratching the car himself when he parks on the pavement and catches the garden wall.............
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.
