Problem with cyclists

They are kids and kids ride bikes on their street. You probably did the same.
Park your car on your own property and not the public highway! Problem solved. If you don't have that facility perhaps you chose the wrong house.
Sorry, but too many people don't consider their own parking needs properly these days and rely on the public road for parking.
So because they are children they can do what they want is what you are saying?? They still should learn to respect others property. I suspect you have 3 little brats running around screaming all the time damaging cars etc which is why you have this attitude. Another parent who instead of taking responsibility for their children and theirs childrens actions blames everyone else around them. Cars shouldn't be on the road, people shouldn't walk where children play, people shouldn't have single pane glass when a ball breaks it.....the list goes on.
As for considering your parking needs when buying a house, if your fortunate enough to be able to buy a house, a property with parking may not even be within your budget. Not to mention that a lot of new properties especially those that are apparently aimed at first time buyers rarely have off street parking. If every person with a car was to buy a house with offstreet parking then over half the properties available would be empty and there would a lot of people not living in a house at all!!!
OP you shouldn't be out of pocket. Ideally you need to talk to the parents calmly and explain it isn't acceptable, you appreciate children aren't always aware of the problems they cause but its not on that you have to fork out everytime something is damaged. If it continues get proof of whos children is damaging your car and get a quote for repair, issue a copy of the quote to the parent. If they don't want to pay for it then take them to the small claims court maybe once they have to put their hands in their pocket they may realise they ACTUALLY need to take responsibility for the children they brought into this world.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
In my street it's very quiet, mostly old folk living there.... But as they start to die off, we have young families moving in, I have no problem with this as long as they're not damaging property.
I've only once had to ask kids to stop throwing stones around the street, for which I did get the "they're just playing!!! response shouted up the road from their mother", I shouted back "well them chuck stones around your f**king house instead then!!", haven't had a problem since.
The ex's street was a nightmare for kids though, mostly due to the large driveway of an unused bungalow directly opposite her house.
The point is, you cannot predict what your street is going to be like in 5+ years time, no matter how it seems when you move in.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Shouting that makes you as bad as them.0 -
Shouting that makes you as bad as them.
Your wrong, im sorry.... But if your soft on them, they'll walk all over you.
My ex ended up with an EON land rover defender parked in front of her house (blocking the front door and ground floor windows) because she told the neighbour it was ok to use her unused parking space, what she didn't consider was that he'd park the monster truck in front of her house instead of his own. 2 years this went on and she was too soft/polite to do anything about it!!
Never back down and give up your rights, you'll find its a lot harder to regain them than it was to lose them.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

You have no right to obstruct the road with your parked car, none at all. The roads are there to allow us to get from A to B, not as a free parking facility.
Absolute rubbish!
What makes you think the OP was causing an obstruction?
As for a free parking facility? Tell that to the millions of people who do just that.
I repeat...a road is NOT a playing area.You have been reading.....another magnificent post by garethgas :beer:0 -

Well it wasn't her parking space in the first place, was it? It's a public road I assume?0 -

So shouting fcuk in the street with children present is right?
Maybe it is in chavsville, where you reside.0 -

No, it was actually her 2nd parking space on what used to be the front garden and it's a terraced house.
The Landy was too big to fit in one space, so she said they could use her space to park their car on if the monster truck was taking up both their spaces, well it backfired..... Big time!
Monster truck like this one

Do you know why kids think it's funny to shout out swear words?
It's because they know it's wrong/naughty.......
I don't consider "buggar" to be a swear word, ie "you little buggar".
My nephew has been told it's a bad/naughty word, so what does he do? he uses it in the wrong context and he has fits of laughter shouting it out constantly for anything up to 15 minutes.
I've played online games on xbox/ps3 where kids are screaming swear words down into the microphone, they don't even know what these words mean!!!!!!!!!
So to summarise I think that by making things "taboo" we're actually encouraging our children to treat these words as "special" words to be used to "show off".
I have no objection to using these words in the right context and in the right situation, we'll all end up doing it eventually so why not just treat them as rarely spoken, rather than "special".
If a kids swears, ignore them, if they don't get attention they'll stop doing it.... If you make a fuss then they know exactly which button to press next time they want some attention!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
