It seems we all face these well meaning family members. My Dad lives in Melbourne and two years ago my friend and I stayed there with him for 3 months while we did a work placement in a hospital there. His wife fed us til we burst almost. After every meal there was a pudding with double cream! Despite our protests that we were watching our weight, she would tell us it was low fat double cream! If only such a thing existed lol.:p
I'm going back in March for 6 weeks, really looking forward to it, but hoping she's not going to fed us up again.;)DFW Nerd 1394.

Dont know how this has happened, but i am reporting a -1lb loss this week. Saturday was my worse day. I finally got my birthday cake of my sister, a giant cupcake with buttercream. Served 10 people, so luckily i only had 1 slice and the rest was shared around. Saturday night was full of alcohol, no fatty late night kebab after tho, i was being a good girl.:o
Have been having more snacks than usual tho, and have hardly done any exercise, other than walking.
Will have to weigh in a day early next week as i am at seaside with my mum and kids next wednesday and wont be taking my wii with me.PAD Maker0 -
Well done on the loss Mandz1,that is cool :j
Am watching Quincey. Its so bad its good:rotfl:
Any how last night I went to a Comedy Club very funny and enjoyable night out (mostly in the dark so no one could see me!!) however walking back to the station (and to actually) I just could not keep up with my friends at all:o, not mentioning that my friend's parents were there and one of them has a pace maker!
SO. Plan.
THis week ensure I walk at least 5000 steps each day(from today till next wednesday).
Next week aim for 7500 and the following 10000.
There was going to be more detail but I have to GET ON WITH DECLUTTERING - sorry for shouting but I need to be shouted at!
see you later

Hi peeps, hope this morning finds everyone well.;)
Weigh day for me today, I always dread it in case I've had a gain, as that would really demotivate me.
I had managed to save the £250 I had said I would, but I used it yesterday to pay for accomodation for a few days in Cairns while I'm with my Dad. Not sorry though.;)
I will try to make it up again, but don't think it will be enough to clear full £250 overdraft. Heres hoping .....:rotfl:DFW Nerd 1394.

So I have a new incentive to lose weight (and become debt free)... The BF wants us to move to South Africa, scary but I actually want to go. Feel like my life is at a dead end. After spending 16 years of my life in continuous education now that I am out I am lost. I have no idea what I want to do. I want to teach and I want to be a nurse but I can't afford to go back to uni to learn it's not the fees it's the debt I wouldn't be able to service. I have nearly £200 in debt minimum repayments each month plus rent plus bills to pay, it's just not gonna happen right now. We want to own our own house. We feel that we will never be able to save the £20-30K deposit we would need to have something we can grow into. We want to get married (well I do and he does eventually) but weddings here are astronomical even on a budget. Leaving for South Africa would mean we could get a modest house (maybe with a pool
) with a deposit for as little as £5,000. We have tonnes of stuff to sell including our cars (his is a Jaguar mine is a Clio - will lots of miles but only an 04 plate) so we should be able to get about £5K between them. Plus our TVs, furniture kitten  we could make a tidy sum. I could be almost debt free by March (with only a £3K loan left) AND with today's Groupon of a TEFL course (teaching english as a foriegn language) at only £65 instead of £369 (courtesy of mum and dad) I will be completing that before I go.
R has his best friend in SA, he loves it over there - I have never been but I don't think I'd be happy here without him so I am going to. I don't think we would be there forever as I am reluctant to raise children in a place like SA but who knows. I am pretty excited, it might not happen but I have a feeling it might.
Oh and BTW as of this morning I am 86.6KG official weigh in tomorrow though - thinking I might go to the gym tonight

Is that TEFEL course the real deal - you can do it all online? or do you attend Classes?
Your trip to SA sounds amazing, I really admire people who can do that, good luck!

You should try it rdchich, while you have got nothing to stop you. I worked in Melbourne 2 years ago for 3 months as part of a work placement. I stayed with my dad as he lives there, but I really missed my OH and kids. I would go back tomorrow if they would come with me but they won't.
A lot of people I worked with there alternated and worked 6-12 months there and same same amount of time here. For me that would be perfect but none of my family will go. My daughter is going for a month in November, and me and OH are going for 6 weeks in March but just for holiday, and hope they might see the light.
It is a much better quality and way of life, and if I could have sent them over to me I would never have come back here (I think).
The world is a much smaller place now and a lot easier to visit and stay in touch with family. Despite how far away my dad is I see him around every 2 years sometimes more often. I met up with him for a few days in Rome last year. He fones me about once a month and we constantly email.
Hope you make the best decision for you and your BF, its never an easy one to make. But whatever you decide, it doesn't mean you can't change your mind later on.
