Had Firefox now for a few days all was going well until I couldn't play any sound when I went to the BBC 7 listen again section. The message I got was that something is already using Real Player, which is not true unless it's being done by a programme without my knowledge. Tried adding the Real Player Plug in with no success. I am loading Firefox within Sandboxie, could that have anything to do with it? Forgot to say that when I first installed Firefox it did work that first day.
    Any insights would be appreciated.

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself. When you remove the bandages you see nothing. If you are always reading between the lines your probably missing what's written on the lines! I cannot get enough fruit cake.

I don't know if you can put it on the googlebar because it is a seperate extensions. But you can put it somewhere else - e.g next the the home icon

If you right-click the menus at the top-left of the browser, the 'customize' option should appear. clicking this will make a box appear with icons

You should be able to see the autofill icon in there and be able to drag it up next to the home icon - or anyware else you like

You will also see a few icons in there you might have been missing like the history and print icons.

While this tray is open, you can move the toolbars at the top of the page around - If you look at the screenshots I did at the beginning of this thread, you'll see that I have my url box right at the top to save space

As you'll all see, I am a great supporter of Mozilla Firefox. Its a browser replacement for Internet Explorer which, according to many, is so full of security holes, etc that Microsoft have trouble issuing enough patches regularly to keep it secure from attacks by spyware, malware, etc...

Firefox and Mozilla are both based around the Netscape browser and they are absolutely excellent to use - similar to Avant if anyone has looked at this one before but Avant is based around Explorer.

The email package - Thunderbird - is a great replacement for Outlook too.

The link is, as you can see, all over the place here - there is a referral facility where I could set up a link to earn credits, but I don't really think that's fair so the direct link is just:

It's just a case of seeing what does it for you!

Make sure you go to "Other Systems and Languages" and then choose "English (British)" and then you have correct spelling of certain items such as colours and -ise words.

    Another great feature of FireFox!

...Its a browser replacement for Internet Explorer

I don't like the word replacement. It makes some people scared that they won't be able to use IE any more

I'm constantly trying to persuade people that you can have both - and that firefox won't try and murder IE :D

firefox_logo.jpg <---The second avatar I ever had on this site (I'm on my 4th). The problem was that I couldn't have that and then make posts suggesting firefox without looking like a complete fanatic:rotfl:;)

I have firefox and have been using for a while, it is good. I would like to use Thunderbird as well. However I have a pocket pc which I sync with Outlook for PIM and emails. I have searched high and low, but so far have not found a sync solution for a pocket pc and Thunderbird. Anyone else had better luck? Cheers
