I have a job......... and a busy one, I am back on today as it is quieter at work today before Xmas. I have subscribed to the newsletter for a while, I didn't ever go on the chat rooms, but whilst looking for some info on a mortgage I spotted them. Thought it would be nice to share this. Thanks for the welcome.

To reiterate I got the cast iron Cuisinart MP14NU - My friend also received hers the day after mine. I hope you are as lucky.

    Hi Chatty_J

Really sorry, I hope I haven't offended you. Please see post #2 and #71, the first thanking you for the post and the second apologising for being jittery.

It was a genuine misprice but the way the site worked was peculiar and made a few of us suspicious. I admit the fact you hadn't posted again and that you had only registered that day worried me. I'm sorry if I worried out loud, that was a mistake.

I hope you have a great Christmas, I'm finding this humble pie a little difficult to swallow so I'm off to find something to wash it down with.

By the way, Cooks Kitchen have cancelled my order but you can't win them all.

    Thanks again for sharing.

    Merry Christmas
Just looking to save a few pennies here and there

No luck for me as I can't find the product on the web site - looks like I have missed a good one.
    :hello:

Ordered mine on 20/12/2006 at 1315.
    Confirmation at 1408

Might be lucky, I'll keep you posted.
Never ever pay full price for anything and question everything at least twice!
  • Just checked my credit card...the dosh has gone out to the Cook's Kitchen.

Looking hopeful, without counting my liquidised chickens, it just a shame about missing the waffle maker offer deadline...selling that on, would have offset the high cost of this nicely! :D

Morning Hoss, "It could be you" you may be lucky and get one. What time did you order and get confirmation?
Never ever pay full price for anything and question everything at least twice!
  • Been on to credit card , cooks kitchen only debited for part of order and charged del!!!!
But credit card have sed dont worry because they have broken the law
"On the distance selling act" and they had no right to fulfil a part order Without informing the purchasee of what was happening, and then changing the terms and conditions!
So basically the credit card people sed they havent got a leg to stand on and they would pursue it if needed!
  • These people have now taken £9.70 from my card - more than half of that is postage and the reast an item I bought to take the original order over £50 to get free postage. What is worrying is that they have not responded to any of my e mails, they did not answer the phone on their order line (despite the fact that website says there is an answer machine) They do not answer their head office phone number. I tried all day yesterday.
My credit card company says we need a copy of the Crooks Kitchen's (oops typo!) terms and conditions before we can proceed.
This company STINKS! As I said before I could have been philosophical if they had contacted me and said the processor price was a mistake and would like to cancel. No problem. but to try and get me to pay more in postage than it cost for the extra item is just downright shady. What I find most sinister is their refusal to answer the phone or emails - even before the holiday season started yesterday. I can assure you though that I will not let this go.
  • Hi MeanManc

hanks for the post, Sorry I was so Grumpy!

You have a good Christmas too.

    J
  • For information, the cooks kitchen terms and conditions, are on the postage and packing page!, there is no mention of a disclaimer of wrong pricng etc or anything, also it claims that if you cancel within 14 days etcyou will have to pay £5 etc , this is not correct , credit comp informs they cannot hold you to this Especially in this matter, so stevie freebie i suggest you dowload or printout there t&c,s from there website before they change the page!, i printed out Every page i visited on there site, and also my order stating and showing the goods and price!
p.s thanks chatty j! it was worth the try on this!
  • oh also the reason no one could not get thru to cooks kitchen yesterday,
was that they was CLosed for christmas! i know this cos i called on thurs, and they did confirm All my order!, ummm real good customer service huh, considering they knew what they had done to my order, and of course wished me a merry christmas! (yeah right!)
  • Hi Chatty,

Have you tried the machine yet? The more I look at the picture, the more I like it. Thanks so much for the find.

I am not worried about it at all, at the end of the day, we wanted to use 50 pounds to get something which costs more than 200 pounds. If we get it we get it, if we don't, it does not really matter. And I don't believe they can change your order without informing you first. As long as you paid with your credit card and not cash etc., you shall be alright.

I have just printed a copy of their order, and I will sit back and relax my Christmas holiday :) If I can't take this 'stress', I might as well go to John Lewis to pay them 270 Pounds so I don't have to worry. LOL
