 Same here lesley. I phone, all polite and nicey nicey to tell them there has been some mistake. They'd taken £50.50p from my account and today my order of two small items required with a receipt for £8.50!! The subsequent phone call turned into a rant at me about how I hadn't replied to their emails and hadn't said I didn't want the other items.
I wasn't too impressed by their customer service or their insistence that I needed to pay the postage. When it was pointed out that I had at NO TIME agreed to pay postage, she reminded me deliveries over £50 only were free. She couldn't accept that because my order was under £50 because of their error, I felt I shouldn't pay.
The person I spoke too was rude and very unhelpful and I'm not impressed at all. OK so I didn't get a processor, but I'd still have happily shopped there if they'd shown good customer service otherwise.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -

I might be wrong here but surely if they took £50.50 out of your account then they have accepted your order and have entered into a Contract and must supply the goods.
I know a few years ago Virgin/Woolworths and another company done the same sort of thing with a Gamecube, took the money and then said they didn't have any but the crucial part was that they had taken peoples money for the goods which meant they had to either supply it or provide the goods at that price. This meant I bought the gamecube from Amazon and sent the receipt to Virgin who refunded the difference between the price they had charged and the amount I had to pay Amazon.
If I were you I would check this out with Trading Standards.
In my case Crooks Kitchen only ever took the amount for the chopping board and postage so I didn't take it any further but I think you have a good case.0 -

They then refunded the £50.50 and took £8.50. Does anyone know the situation with paying postage when you haven't agreed to do so? If Amazon can't provide your book and your order is for free delivery then they post for free anyway.
Crooks Kitchen - I like that one.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
When I found out I had been charged for postage many moons ago, I contacted credit card company, and they told me that Cookskitchen were not allowed to take an additional charge without permission. I agree with Anic about contacting TS, as I think they have confirmed your contract by taking the dosh.0

I'm trying to remember but with the Virgin thing with the Gamecube I am positive they refunded the money too when they realised their mistake.
It was only after so many people from this forum kicked up a fuss that they then contacted everybody by e-mail admitting their mistake and telling them if I could find the thing elsewhere to buy it and they would refund the difference.
I don't think Cookskitchen will give you this option but I do think they are in the wrong as they took the full amount from you - entering into the contract by accepting your money and agreeing to supply the goods.
I think if you spoke to Trading Standards/Consumer Direct they would be able to advise you properly but you should definately not be out of pocket regarding the P&P0
