  • It would be interesting to see what Trading Standards say about this.

I'd very much like to hear TSs views about false advertising, misreprsentation, and fraudulent use of peoples financial details and taking funds for goods they can not provide?
Never ever pay full price for anything and question everything at least twice!
  • I like the look of the processor and I am going to see if we can resolve the problem amicably. I will give them the opportunity to supply me one at the non promo price but include a discount (min 10%) as a gesture of goodwill?

If their email to me, they offered me an automatic 10% any future purchase and gave me a code to enter at the checkout. Be interested to see if they can suddenly procure more when you talk about more money with them!

It would be interesting to see if we could still order the item online (despite it being out of stock!) and add the code to get the discount. If you can still order the item then surely it is either false advertising or breach of contract (refusing to supply the product at the "promotional" price).

If they do not supply the goods at the agreed price then they will be opening up a whole can of worms for themselves. People who want to take it further could contact; Trading Standards, Advertising Agency, BBC's Watchdog, Consumers Association, their directors, Cuisinart and their supplier.
Has anybody read the Sale of Goods Act?

No idea about how big this company is but I suspect it would be quicker and cheaper to honour the orders. Rather than get all these compplaints, attention from various TS's, coverage in local press and the BBC?

  • I think Trading Standards would show you the door & tell you to stop wasting their time....they're all tied up with chasing dodgy Irish Patio Drive Tarmac companies.

At the end of the day (& no matter how badly they've handled it) it was a pricing error...end of.

Oh dear Mr HankMcSpank you do have a very poor view of TS. Are you trying to convince people not to take it further?

"My" TS are very helpful, always return calls and reply to E-Mails (normally within 24 hours). They have been very helpful in this case and based on the information I have given them have been very positive about it. They did advise giving the Cooks Kitchen an "opportunity" to honour the contract before taking the matter further.

Truthfully...I couldn't care a less, but the sheer noise you're generating on this thread is getting a little OTT.

You took a punt, it didn't come off...hey, it happens, move on. If you're banging on Trading Standard's door over something as innocuous as this, then my thoughts go out to 'em. Frankly- they've got bigger fish to fry.

TS "Hi, how can I help you"
BS "There's this item with a real price of £250 that this company accidentally posted on their website for £50...but now, they've emailed me to say they can't deliver"
    TS "Don't blame 'em....next!"
  • Just called 'em myself (on the basis that I ordered one early, they'd taken my money & hadn't received the "sorry" email").

Apologetic lady says: "Did you not get an email yesterday"

    Me: "No"

Load of waffle about supplier letting them down...."You will get a refund"

    Me [indifferent] "Ok, thanks"

So there you have it...even if you ordered early, even if they took your money, even if you didn't receive a "you're not getting one" email.....erhmm, it definitely looks like you're not getting one!

[Slopes away & places this one in the "I knew it would never come off, but hey at least I tried & at least *my* blood pressure remains low" category]

I understand what you are saying. However, I do not think my comments have generated a lot of noise. If any of my comments were inappropriate I'm sure they would have been deleted/moderated/corrected.
If people do not like the volume and don't care less about this issue then checking this thread is voluntary not compulsary?

I agree with the take a punt and move on philosophy. Other people may have a different view. If they want to take it further then it's up to them to make an informed decision and I respect that.

My experience of TS is the opposite to yours and if it was the same then I would perhaps have the same view as you. And I'd wonder what my council was playing at.

Come on, be honest, you must care a little or else you wouldn't continue to check back and post? I will look for the volume control before posting again.

I've always found TS to be helpful as far as is possible and wouldn't take delight in them telling me to go away because they had "bigger fish to fry". I pay their wages for a start....
Anyway, I've replied to the email everyone got in the last 24hrs and told them to cancel my order, refund my card, stop sending me spam and get bent. I would take it further but I also have "bigger fish to fry".
