Wow!!!! That is a lot! I will have to find a Chinese supermarket now. I kept looking in Asian supermarkets and it was expensive in there!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I was not able to use my hot tap in the bathroom for literally months, it would just dribble out and my son wasnt able to find the isolating screw to change the washer. I poured some white vinegar between the shaft of the tap head and the casing .... voila I have hot water again now.
I usually soak my shower head in white vinegar and I am going to soak the sprinkler exit point of my taps now by tying a bag containing white vinegar to help to clear those too0 -

rosie383: If you can find someone with a cash and carry card ask them to get you a 5 litre bottle - it will cost just over £3.00. Or, if you live near a small independent shop ask them to get you one - they get their goods from cash and carry.I believe that friends are quiet angels

I use value malt vinegar which is approx 13p per 500ml bottle.
Use for everything. Descaling the kettle, in the washing machine, down the sink and of course on my chips!!!!

I too use Tesco Value Malt vinegar for approx 13p a 500ml bottle, instead of the white stuff. It gets put in the washing machine also. I have white egyptian cotton bedlinen and it comes out beautiful. I wash the windows with it and clean the worktops, sometimes adding tea tree. I would not recommend adding essential oils to any for cleaning the windows, as this will smear the windows, depending on the oil. I just keep a plain bottle of vinegar and when the smell goes, give a wipe with essential oils around the place. would not waste the extra money on distilled, it does exactly the same job0

I use the ASDA SmartPrice vinegar, also at 13p for 568ml.
It actually can't be called malt vinegar on the label, because it's spirit vinegar with malt extract added, not made from malt.
However, taste wise when used a a condiment, even my fussy lady friend (OK, she picked me.) can't tell the difference.

Hi,
I normally buy white vinegar from our local grocers, but now I will have a look around my local Chinese supermarket, & ask someone how much it is at Cash & Carry? Thanks for the tips!
Here is a tip for those who have a dishwasher..... once a month, whilst the d/washer is empty. I throw a cup of vinegar in and put it on it's quickest cycle. My d/washer is quite old, so it is must be doing something!0
