Having battled a fungal infection on one of my big toe nails for two years using expensive lotions from chiropodists one recommended WHITE vinegar
applied once a day - and bingo it works ! It took a couple of months however so if like me you paint your summer toenails start early. I also mentioned it to a friend abroad who used it on a forehead rash which had defied all the doctors ointments and he said that it cleared it however I would be a little careful of that myself.0 -
Just stumbled onto this website. Very good list:

I am rocking the OS cleaning but haven't really used vinegar before. Our washing machine is no spring chicken so I think it's time it got some tlc (argh just imagining all the gunk inside...I don't want it to die!)
Soooooooo I hear vinegar in the wash is the way forward, however I notice in Mr Ts white vinegar is 45p compared to the bargainous price of 13p for malt. Are these two interchangable for cleaning purposes, or will my laundry come out smelling like a chip shop?
Any reccomendations on where to buy vinegar cheaply?
Please advise!0 -
Malt is coloured and does stain so for cleaning I always stick to white.
Another idea is to run a hot wash with caustic soda and vinegar - brilliant for a first degunk

Not Buying it 2015!0 -
I bought white vinegar in the local shop (they type that sells everything in one room!!)& paid 50p for a litre. Use it to do my windows & clean teh washing machine. I fill a fabric conditioner cap with vinegar & add it to the powder & conditioner section & run on an empry 60 degree cycle. No more gunk!!!0

I used malt to clean the filthy(!) edges of my kitchen floor and skirting boards and washed it off afterwards. No problemo!Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0

Anyone else used malt vinegar for cleaning?
I will be running an empty wash this month as I am dying jeans in the washer, so would I be able to use malt vinegar in the empty wash? Or should I stop being so cheap and just buy white! :rotfl:0 -
Ive used Malt before in my washing machine and its been fine, but then the next wash was a coloured wash, I dont know about whites....
