I'm using white vinegar on a regular basis now and have ditched my other cleaning products...anyone got any sources to buy this in bulk?? I don't have access to bulk buying places such as Makro etc....I've been getting it from Asda but find I run out quickly so I'm looking for larger quantities?0

Do you have any 'ethnic' supermarkets near you? We have a small chinese supermarket round the corner and a whole street of indian supermarkets in another part of our city, and both do it in huge gallon containers for about a quid.0

I'll check them out tomorrow, thanks, we do have at least 6 I can think of, but I haven't been to any in a while....time for a visit into the city
Asda only has the small bottles and I think they're around 40p so if I can get a huge bottle for around £1ish I'll be happy

Our Chinese supermarkets sell it at £3 ish a gallon. Also around this time of year and into autumn many greengrocers sell it for pickling onions and beetroot0

Had to report back on my findings.....not as good as previous posters on the cost side....the main chinese shop near me does a 5lt container for £3.90....and there aren't many greengrocers left here...0

Just a quick question - I have inherited a bottle of white wine vinegar and was wondering if it could be used for cleaning in the same way as white vinegar can?
Thanks,
Mamashaz0 -
Seems a waste, but I would have thought so.:wave:0

My son is toilet training and sometimes misses and it goes down the toilet bowl!:o
I've scrubbed at it and can't get rid of the smell!!
A neighbour mentioned white vinegar which I have but...

Hi katy,
I use vinegar for getting rid of smells in the air (fish, smoke etc I boil it on the hob with 50% water for about 10 minutes) but for smells on carpet and floors I think bicarbonate of soda is better.
I've added your thread to the vinegar thread but these threads may help too:
Bicarbonate of Soda
bicarbonate of soda on carpets
