Anyone in the Leeds area can pick up a 5 litre bottle of white vinegar from the chinese supermarkets around Templar Street for around £2 (Got some myself this week).
In reply to Mrs Wossinge I was in Netto today and they sell lemon juice for 28p, 200-250ml, not sure of exact size.0 -
how much do you use as a conditioner, also do you use it to 'wash out' the machine on a wash and spin. How much do you use, can you use brown or just white vinegar, and why do you really do this. Thanks0

Don't know about the other things you've asked but have read you shouldnt use brown vinegar as it can stain.

in your conditioner dispenser half fill with vinegar for conditioning clothes
to wash out the washer use a full dispenser but where you usually put washing powder use soda crystals0 -
When i used fabric conditioner the machine only had "room" for the concentrated version, so I use 30ml white vinegar.
I use it because my partner has a very sensitive skin.:wave:0 -
I've heard that vinegar is one of the best cleaning products around, but what vinegar do I use? I've heard it's "white" vinegar, is this the clear stuff you can get from supermarkets, etc?
Any suggestions on what I can use it for?
One I know is filling a small freezer bag with it and securing around a shower head as it removes all the limescale. I take it it can then be used to descale kettles and irons too?
Any advice welcomed!0 -

It is not white vinegar, this is a misnomer, it is actually clear, like water
I have found the bog standard brown / malt does the job and is much cheaper, including in the wash. I have not found any evidence of staining but most of my clothes are coloured any way. Maybe tennis whites or such like could be affectedEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I've washed some whites and have not had a problem with staining using brown malt (or the even cheaper value spirit - with added colour to make it look like malt!)
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -
Went to the cupboard today in order to get out some vinegar to wash the washing machine through, my vinegar turns out to be non-brewed condiment:eek:
