You don't need to stick to white vinegar. I had trouble sourcng 5L tubs of the white, so I have resorted to el cheapo malt - I tend mainly to use it in my washing machine. I bought 2 x 5L tubs from Costco last week - I believe they were £1.59 each.
(No, it doesn't stain your clothes - I use it on my whites as well as colours)0 -
I have heard that Vinigar is good for cleaning windows? If it is, does anyone know what the dilution rate should be? I want to wash my conservatory with my superspray hose end sprayer cause the roof is looking a bit dark and if I use detergent I might cover the avenue in foam!! I thought vinigar being invisible so to speek....Thanks in advance0

Hi Bubbles
I use vinegar for cleaning my windows. I have a water spray and I probably use about 10% -20 % vinegar/ I also use two microfibre cloths to get them sparkling.
I spray the vinegar solution on the window, clean with one cloth, then a few mins later (after I have cleaned the next window, for example) I go over the first window with the other cloth. This leaves them sparkling.
I'm not sure how well it would work through a hose though. I;m sure someone else will be along to advise soon.

Thanks for that dannahaz, I used the 20% solution and it did OK the glass cleaned up fine. I sprayed onto the roof but didnt use a brush or anything. I hope with regular treatment the roof will become and keep clean. Must be the acid in the vinegar that does the job.
Thanks!0 -
You could try using newspaper instead of a cloth. I find it works quicker and better - and it's a good way of using up the local freebie newspaper!0

Yes. 'White' vinegar is colourless, like water. I don't know why it's called 'white'!
There's an all about vinegar thread so i'll merge this thread to it to keep the answers together as I doubt there's a vinegar question that it doesn't answer! (Well done on finding this one to post on by the way!)May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Always cold. Hot sets the stain.
I'll put this in the vinegar thread shortly so other people can find it.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
