Please can anyone remind what ratio of water/white vinegar/detergent to use in a spray bottle for cleaning please? I can't find the previous thread.

I found a swift in my back bedroom when I got up this morning and it's pooed all over the window trying to get out (absolutely no idea how it got in!

    Hi
I use 50/50 water and white vinegar with a small drop of washing up liquid works great. Wipe off and then buff up with a microfibre cloth

    Hi moneyowen,

I've merged your post into the white vinegar thread where you should be able to find the answer.

    Hi peeps

    SQUEAKY

I have a question for you chick seeign as you seem to be the vinegar goddess of the site. My dogs coat smells (not his actual coat a little waterproof jacket thingy he wears when it rains) anyway i read the laundry tip you said about putting white vinegar in the actual drum of a washing machine or soaking a cloth in vinegar then putting it on a highest wash.

Anyway my question is if i soak a microfibre cloth in vinegar and put it in the drum with poochs coat, and do a high wash (like a maintenance wash for my machine) would it
    a) clean his coat?
    b)clean the washing machine and
    c) take the doggy smell away too???

just figured id ask first - also thanks for pointing out that white vinegar is also distilled malt vinegar - i found the distilled at my tesco and wasnt convinced it was the right stuff - also it had a big discontinued sign on the shelf so i might go and stock up tomorrow!!!!
    Time to find me again
  • Hi,

Does anyone know where I can find distilled white vinegar for cleaning around the house?

I can only find distilled white MALT vinegar but want the plain white distilled vinegar.

Thanks in advance if you can help!!! :D

If you can find regular white vinegar, you can distill it yourself by running it through a regular water filter a few times...
  • Wilkinsons do it, comes in a spray bottle.
