  • @ jakes-mum - buy it, slice it, whack it in the freezer =) I got a nice loaf from Waitrose yesterday for 35p, OH was impressed that he didn't have to pay the £1+ for it like he normally does, 7pm shopping is the best

Hey jakes-mum, can you not use it for a bread and butter pudding..or bread pudding?? Delicious and doesn't cost a lot. Or you could soak it in either milk or water and put it in the oven for a little while - comes out as if it were new!

Hey everyone, i have posted a few times in this thread and i'd like to officially join.

I have 2 pots - one for notes (if i sell something on Gumtree which is cash in hand) and £2 coins AND another tin for 5p peices and under (for this i have a jar that has a digital display coin counter - bought in Primark for £5 - my daughter does the 'drop-ins' as she loves to watch the counter).
I only started mid October but have £32 in one jar and £2.10 in the other.

eta - 8p gone in the pot today.

Isn't that the bread that you bought on offer last night, jakes-mum?! By what you said about your height and weight earlier the word matchsticks comes to mind, you know, the choccy ones! :rotfl:

Nooooo that was the tiger bread one I got for co-op, the one I bought from waitrose was full price  have gone back today and got a loaf of allinsons which I much prefer anyway and while there picked up 2 large bags of sweets from their halloween reduced which is perfect for the Tombola at Lilys birthday in January (BBD is July 2013!:D) have had a look in my prizes bag and have managed to get nearly all the girls prizes and spent £2.36 :D Who said doing a carnival would cost the earth :rotfl:

Thank you everyone else for your ideas, DH absolutely loathes bread and butter pudding and i'll admit I am a total fuss bum and wont eat bread thats been in the freezer, I have no idea why, the idea just grosses me out :rotfl:

Never heard of the milk and oven thing, will have to try that . . . not that bread lasts longer than 3 days in this house :D I have emailed a complaint to waitrose though, I mean I paid FULL PRICE!! I want at least 4 days on the label :rotfl:

I do have another £2 coin to go in my pot so will pop it in now :D

    Morning Sue
There are still a couple who haven't put their numbers on yet, sparky, despite me sending PMs too!!! Did you get rubytuesday's total on her sig?

I did get Ruby's total and it's on the spreadsheet but thanks for the reminder.

I haven't been finding much road change this year due to being in work in O/T, I think it's a conspiracy against me because they've forced me to work this weekend too!

Hacve a great weekend hun and say hi to your DH from DW and me
