Buyer demanding I leave items in house..

Hey guys and gals. Im in the middle of a PX with Barratts for a new build.
I have filled in the fittings and fixtures form correctly, but my solicitor has recieved word from Barratts solicitor saying I MUST leave my free standing oven in the house. I told them I had not put that on the form so I would not be leaving it. They have got back to my solicitor saying If I do not leave it then would reduce the offer they have made on my house to reflect this. I have again told them to kindly get lost, and I will reduce my offer on there house also to reflect this
Am I taking the right stance here? Or am I in the wrong, Im a bit confuddled as to why a multi million pound company would bicker with me over a 200quid cooker. Any advice?
Cheers

I don't think they're particularly bothered what brand it is. It must be for resale. If you can't agree then get a second hand one off ebay and pop it in it's place. £50.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I have no experience of this but could it be possible that they have a buyer lined for your house already but that buyer is making similar demands i.e. get them to leave the cooker.
The title to your post uses the plural "items" what other items are these?0 -
What does your Solicitor say? Surely this is why you pay them, to handle issues like this?0

It's a £200 cooker, you're having a hassle free part ex, just leave it0

They wopn't be able to advertise it as a fully functioning kitchen without the cooker maybe....
Seems daft of them to me though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Ordinarily I would have told them to whistle as well, but this is a Part Ex, so there is no real gain in you not leaving it..0

Why should I do this though? If it was included as stated in the fixtures and fittings form then of course I should leave it, but it wasn't..
Should I leave them my TV also if they ask me to?0 -

I'd think long and hard about foregoing a sale over a bloody cooker.0
