But you're wrong IMO, "theft" is a criminal offence. This is a civil matter between you and the manager, if he proves his case you have to pay whatever he is awarded by the CIVIL court for the price of the meal and his court costs.
There's no "theft" involved at all. It's our right to dispute a restaurant bill AFAIK.
I'd like to be able to quote you the laws applicable but I don't know them, this is what I have always been told and had confirmed by others on this subject. Ofcourse there's a remote chance it could be an old wives tale.0 -

In that case, could always wrap the meal up and take it to the powers to be, should make an interesting court case!:rotfl:0 -
Now look what happens when people dont complain - more of the same!!!
Wetherspoons have just announced 30 more pubs this yeat, even with a smoking ban being enforced in 2007! It is spending £ 35 million, and creating 1200 new jobs
And wait for it, it is also spending £25 million on the pubs it already has!
So not a bad profit in the sub-standard meals is it to have that sort of money to spend! :mad:0 -
unless they're spending the money improving the meals..
