A least when you signed you had the copy of the receipt with the amount shown on it.

The real sad part on Watchdog was victims not being belived that they weren't negligent (whatever this constitutes) with their PIN.

One of my Morgan Stanley cards, which I use for virtually nothing but paying 18866.co.uk, has had £5,000 of blagging, mainly overseas.

I can't see how they got the details for this card either.

Just had £5500 of fraudulent transactions on my Barclaycard.

Mostly Airlines tickets but someone also seems to have paid either Parking Ticket/Council Tax/Business Rates with Ealing Council.

Either this frauster is really thick or Barclaycard have produced a card with a duplicate number on it.

After Watchdog, does anyone out there still trust the PIN part of Chip & PIN?

    Doubters read this (click here)

It could explain many of the postings I've submitted.

I paid by credit card at a restaurant last week on a card I have not used for 4 months (I had a gut feeling about the establishment) 3 days later £490 to an online gambling site. My credit card company have been really good and have credited the fraudulent use but I am unsure how they did it as the card was in my sight at all times! I did punch my PIN into a wireless terminal and I think this was being intercepted/snooped on.

Yesterday, 7 cards were cloned after visiting a local petrol station who were raided by the Police (arrest took place) back in the summer. So it looks like maybe cash at the petrol station too!

Restaurants are cash only for me from now on.

They don't require your PIN for the online gambling. All they had to do was note down the credit card number, the expiry and the 3 digit code off the back.
