Is that you?
??
No it isn't, I am not Soolin, Soolin is a character from a BBC TV series, I merely use it on MSE as it is easy to type.
I always suggest to all users that they keep each part of their online identify seperate, never use the same or a similar pseud on more than one site. I follow my own advice, there are no two sites or forums that I ever use the same ID for, not even ebay and Ebid.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sad Times
I still don't understand why Amazon doesn't come in for the same vitriol from you, as they charge more than Ebay for what could be considered a lesser service. I'm fairly certain that if ever Ebid managed to get to a quarter of the trade of Ebay they would without doubt hike their prices. It is only by being and remaining small that they can be competitive on fees, they have considerable fewer overheads.
Ebay's PR with regards price increases and the whole private v business sellers has been appalling. The changes from around the time of abolishing sellers' negative feedback have all been to increase buyer satisfaction and the little pull down menu on the Ebid site comparing Ebid v Ebay actually proves that they have done just that..0 -
Just being picky and no offence intended but, why don't you go by 'moonwitch' on this forum? Perhaps soolin chooses to have different names on different sites/forums as you have done?

thank you for posting this
I'm glad to see that there are posters there who can see that people have come here to launch a personal attach on anyone who disagrees with them, and they have been hunting for them on ebid as well.
I'm also glad that someone is not happy that ebid's reputation is being thrashed on this forum by the very people who are trying to defend it.
It would be good to have new posters who can contribute to a balanced debate(I'll be nice to you, I promise, I'm usually the one who shoots new posters...)
I would be interested to hear what works on ebid, what items sell well, what people have done to get good sales.0 -

I can see why. If there is anyone selling under that name on ebay or ebid.. I would not want to be in their shoes.0 -
Buyers won't come unless you advertise nationally and become a household name like eBay and Amazon did.
Who is buying my stuff then? Where did Huddy get 4000 feedback? (mine is in the middle 1900s)
Only eBid fundamentalists claim that there is no other place to sell but the suggestion that nothing sells on eBid is wrong.0 -

Gosh, there is a Soolin on ebay from the US, it feels funny seeing his/her user name like that.
oooh, I am being discussed on ebid..they think I am a paid employee for ebay on their board as apparently I or someone else has said that on here and they say that as such I should not be allowed to post as a private user. I wonder if ebay know I work for them and if so would they let me have a few BIN listings for free?
One poster has asked everyone to post here in support of ebid, and I suggest the OP decides whether she feels that a few random posts from people being encouraged to do so on the main Ebid forum boards is a good thing or a bad thing.
However I would say that there are also some good sound posts on the ebid board suggesting that not all posts are as helpful as they might be in the cause to support ebid and that concentrating instead on making ebid a success would be the best way to win any argument about how good it is. I think that is a very sensible statement to make and is one, as a would be seller on ebid, I would concur with.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The seller who sells chess pieces on Ebid seems to have the right idea, if Ebid were to market certain specialist areas that they do well with then they could build on that and people offering advice on here could point them in that direction..0 -

As mrsk quite rightly says, ebid is great for some and people do make sales - its just not for me at the moment for the reasons I state above.0 -
