On several occassions HDN dump parcels in my back garden. This has no gate but 7ft fence panels, either she's throwing them, or she's teleporting in. :-O

Sucks like a Thai Lady-boy in a Bangkok Brothel.
Delivery between 7.00am and 7.00pm
Won't deliver the tiniest item without a signature
Won't change the delivery address if you live in an apartment
Can't estimate if it will be a morning or afternoon delivery
Totally unhelpful minimum-wage-monkeys answering the phone
Scripted answers and zero 'Give-a-!!!!-ability'.
Why are they still being used?
Will someone organise a protest!0 -
This company is utter rubbish, odered a product for a wedding, apprently been sitting in depot since the 23rd of April, How ever never received a card saying the package was attempted to be delievered, only until I contacted the supplier they gave me a code to trace.
After using the crap internet site to track the parcel I find it has moved Depots over 20 times, Got in contact with them to redeilver for the next day and now after 20 mins on a phone call find out the parcel is being shipped back to supplier! Why wasnt I told on this when I was arranging to re-deliver
This company should be avoided like a plaque utter rubbish and as above the people on the phone lines are just rubbish to even give them the title of minimum-wage-monkeys is too good for them.0 -
Their internet site is appalling. I've had the misfortune to have had parcels delivered by HDN three times. On all three occasions I needed to rearrange delivery, and all three times the website was unusable, forcing me to ring their premium phoneline. A coincidence? I doubt it. I think rearranging online is deliberately impossible so as to force you to phone."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

HDNL tried to deliver on four occasions before I contacted them, each time failing because a) I work full time, and b) my boyfriend and I had ordered a number of items online and as there was no name written on any of the calling cards I was unaware that it would be me needing to chase for the parcel.
Thursday 28th April – called HDNL to rearrange delivery for Tuesday 3rd May, when my boyfriend would be at home as he does shift work
Tuesday 3rd May – nobody turns up – call at around 6.30 when I get home from work and find out parcel never left depot, am told it will come the next day
Wednesday 4th May – nobody turns up
Thursday 5th May – nobody turns up
Friday 6th May – call HDNL around midday, only now am I informed my parcel has been lost, and once it has been found again the company I ordered my parcel from will let me know – e-mail the company later that evening and inform customer services of the situation – reply suggests that they were not aware of anything, contrary to what HDNL had told me
Monday 9th May – get home from work to find a slip from Yodel – nobody has told me my parcel has been found or asked when I would like redelivery – call to rearrange delivery at my work address for Wednesday 11th May
Wednesday 11th May – nobody turns up
Thursday 12th May – nobody turns up
Friday 13th May – call Yodel to arrange to collect parcel from the depot, am told this has been put in ‘manually’ and to call in the morning to confirm I am expected by the depot
Saturday 14th May – call Yodel who confirm my parcel is waiting at the depot for me and I am expected by the staff. I am refused the depot’s telephone number to double check this with them, for ‘security reasons’. Turn up at the depot and after a long wait am rudely informed by a member of staff in sweat pants and a t-shirt (not sure if this is official uniform) that I should have called first, because I “have to arrange to collect my parcel”. After bluntly informing this member of staff that I did, in fact, call twice to confirm, staff eventually go to look for it.
Upon finding it, staff were unable to tell if the parcel was mine due to a sticker completely covering my name and home address leaving only my work address visible. This disturbs me as had this actually been bothered to have been delivered to my work address, any of the other 500 people who work in my building could have easily falsely claimed my package as their own, yet I turn up to the depot in the flesh ready with a folder full of ID and face this final insult as the staff painstakingly peel back this ingeniously place sticker. Finally, I leave holding my parcel, utterly fuming.
I cannot say how relieved I was when I got home and my new clothes fit!!!0 -

Okay update,
My parcel was suppose to go back to supplier (china) I informed my supplier of this and she gave me two numbers one was for HDNL which I have called up again and once again utter useless dunno how or why they still exist there are no managers around they are all brainwashed to say the same thing over and over even if you ask for contact of the deopo that have recieved it they say they dont have any numbers. Anyway called the other number which is for Global Freight. Now different story this woman was friendly and told me that there is a chance it has returned to heathrow, she informs me to call this number 02087599622 and ask for donna or tarin (how they sound) Amazing!! tarin has informed me that she recieved it last night at 7.10pm and has signed for it and is in the cage where others parcels are waiting to go back, lucky mine is there we have rearranged to go out for tomorrow with PARCEL FORCE, even she agreed they are rubbish! especially if you have a problem with them.
Im more annoyed at the reason why dont HDNL have internal contacts, numbers which they can give out for the depos they deliver to its just poor management and really hopes this company gets shut down. /end rant
Least ill be happy once I have my package tomorrow which is delievered to work address so no excuses why it should not be delivered.0 -
awful awful company.
telephone service is a disgrace, they don't have a complaints dept, and you cannot make a complaint, they refuse to give you correct phone numbers, they don't deliver when they say they will.0 -
Just thought I'd add a few comments too.
In our old house we had the "I wait in all day by the door only to ring at 7pm and find out delivery had apparently been attempted and there was a card through my door" when there was no card and no one had come by and until I read this thread I thought it was a genuine mistake!
Just after I moved to that house I also had my retired neighbours from three doors down randomly turn up at my house one day struggling with a very heavy parcel asking why I hadn't come to collect it. Apparently it had been sat at their house for two days but as I'd had no card telling me how was I to know they had it? According to the company it came from it shouldn't have arrived until that day - fair dues to HDNL they'd delivered two days earlier than scheduled but its a good thing my neighbours were honest as they could have kept it and I'd been none the wiser.
I also had the parcel in a wheelie bin - my MIL sent flowers when I gave birth - there was no card - the first I knew of it was when I threw a load of recycling into the bin and it didn't drop then I realised there was a random box in there - turns out an online florist had used them to deliver - weird or what! Luckily they were in a box as they wouldn't have smelt so nice after empty cat food tins were dumped on top! I also happend to keep my recyling bin at the end of the drive and on days when I had forgotton to pull it round the front of the hedge our friendly bin men had taken it anyway - luckily for me it wasn't recyling day.
We had the parcel on the front door step in full view of the road despite the note on my door saying I'd had to pop out for an unexpected trip to the doctors (kids!) and could they deliver to my neighbour.
I have since had good deliveries from them including a couple of days ago at my new address where they left a card (I really was out this time) so I rearranged delivery for two days time but by 2pm on the day it hadn't arrived - now they always come at 11am (been having a lot of stuff delivered since we've been renovating the new place) so I got worried and tried to track online and it asked me to rearrange delivery again instead so I phoned up (getting through first time) and the man informed me it was out for delivery but they had been late leaving the depot. It arrived about 30min later which was a relief.
I did get a laugh though as when my doorbell went and I said "oh is that HDNL" to the delivery driver; he said "yes if you mean DHL" and I said "no I mean HDNL" so he said "no I'm DHL" (too many acronyms) then as he walks back up the drive he passes another man walking down the drive with a parcel so I call out "is that HDNL" to the new guy with the parcel and he says "no I'm Yodel and so is he" indicating the other driver who'd just left. At which point seeing my very confused face he explained that technically they were all the same company now called Yodel and he had been following the other driver around all over our area all day as they'd been given almost indentical routes. I presume they haven't amalgamated depot deliveries yet as it would have made more sense to collate my two parcels for one driver which would have given the other driver more time to deliver someone elses' parcel.
Oh well I would say they seem to be improving but maybe I've just moved to an area with a driver who cares!

Just had some "You were out" cards from Yodel and went to their website. Only discovered it is HDNL by the (very) small print at the bottom of the page http://www.yodel.co.uk/about/introducing-yodel.aspx
HDNL & DHL have been interchangeable here for a long time. Seems to me like it will be DHL dropping their standards to the level of HDNL but hope it is vice-versa.0
