Home Delivery Network - warning!

Options
Hi folks,

Wasn't sure where to post this, so I hope it's vaguely in the right area.....

I have just chased my Boots order. It has been sat in the Gatwick depot of Home Delivery Network for over a week! I was told they have an enourmous backlog and can't guarantee xmas deliveries.

Just thought I'd let you know. If you've already ordered, check who the courier is and chase if necessary. If you haven't yet, it may be worth paying the extra for a guaranteed service

Happy shopping, all.......
:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood

OMG!! Ive had problems with non-delivery from HDN as well. They say they delivered an item when they categorically didnt (I was in all day waiting for it!!!)

    Steer clear!!
    :T
  • oops my amazon deliveries with all my christmas presents are apparently due to be delivered by them :(

Strange I always thought Amazon used Royal mail as they have their own depot in the amazon warehouse
  • I've done loads of shopping on Amazon this Christmas and its all been Home Delivery Network. One of the few couriers happy to open the back gate and leave a parcel round by the barbeque - then drop a card in to tell you this. I'm not sure that I'm happy with this but it does save me all those trips out to the courier companies..

Amazon used to use royal mail (still do for small things) and dhl, I had so many probs with dhl not even delivering, it seems others did too cos now they use home network. I've had no probs and like andrewawolfe they're happy to leave stuff in my shed if i'm not in. I had deliveries last week no probs, maybe it's particular areas that they are really busy with?

i made a boots.com order last wednesday, paid extra for it to be delivered for yesterday (monday) but nothing arrived. i've just tracked my parcel and says it has been "loaded onto vehicle" at 8am this morning so should i receive it later today?
  • I ordered a digital camera from Amazon which came via home delivery network. I wasn't in and they left it on the door step - in full view of passing pedestrians!!! Not impressed

I always have problems with HDN

My Boots and Arcadia orders are sent via them, if I receive my orders I always send an email of complaint about HDN but obviously no one else does or B/A aren't interested!
I hate this company! They're rubbish - take ages to deliver, make up delivery attempts, etc and their customer service advisors, when they finally answer the phone, are very rude and have the 'couldn't care less' attitude.
    The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

I had an item dispatched on the 7th by Amazon using HDN. Still no sign of it, they really are totally useless.

I wish Amazon would use Royal Mail again, even they could manage to deliver in under a week.
  • Hold on a minute. HDN do provide a good service for the amount of parcels they deliver. I will give you a snap shot. The depot I work in delivered about 60,000 parcels last week which is a phenominal amount, and there are 60 depots averageing it out over the depots is a hell of alot of parcels. Ok there are some problems but you get that with every company. The addresses we get on parcels are sometimes absolute awful to try and deliver to - how about "the cottage" and then the village name, were not blood* phsychics.

    (1) Amazon use several courier companies and HDN being one of them. They wont put all there "eggs" in 1 basket.

    (2) Some of the Southern depots are having an absolutely massive problem in clearing the parcels and Gatwick being one of them. Reinforcements have been sent in this week, so hopefully all in all things should be back to normal.

We are working Saturday and maybe some of the depots that are struggling will be working Sunday aswell.

TNG if you pm me your address with postcode then I will find you the UPI Tracking number so you can track it on-line.

Amazon do provide a tracking number on their despatch confirmation. All that tells me is that my parcel is sat in a warehouse!
Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!
