I understand what all the employess and ex ones are saying but come on, it's a ridiculous service when it's uncontactable!

My eldest had a card put through the door on the 4th Dec when he was in, they didn't even bother to ring the bell! That was put through the door AFTER all the snow had came and was beginning to disappear (never stays for long darn sarf!). For the last 10 days the website just says the same thing -

"We apologise that we are having to temporarily suspend the ability to select a redelivery date or arrange a local depot collection as a result of the severe weather conditions.
Please be assured that your local depot will deliver your parcel at the earliest opportunity possible" and the same phone message on the automated phone number given.

We'd be happy to go to the local depot and pick it up to save them coming out in the now completely melted and disappeared snow, but have absolutely no way of finding where their depot is or a number to warn them we are coming and to please locate the parcel.

Sorry but RM win by a long shot seeing as he has had all 5 other parcels he ordered delivered throughout the bad weather and since!!

Ah I take that back, they do seem to provide numbers and addresses for all their depots...........well if you go via the customers on the disgruntled Facebook group they do!

  • I am having terrible problems with HDN. I made an Amazon order on the 24th November for some Christmas presents and am still waiting for HDN to deliver them. Apparently HDN tried to deliver on teh 26/11/10 but no calling card was left. I contacted Amazon on the 6th Dec about the whereabouts of my package as all my other orders had arrived, they told me the package was with HDN, so I contacted HDN. HDN informed me that they were unable to deliver my package because of the snow, the snow had gone by that point. HDN told me to speak to Amazon, which I did and Amazon reassured me that my parcel would be sent ASAP. Roll on another week adn still no sign of my parcel, so I contacted HDN again. HDN have told me they still can't arrange a redelivery date for me because of the extreme (it's not currently extreme in Kent) weather and because of their backlog. I understand the snow has caused problems - I was unable to get to work during the snow, but they have had my package for nearly a month and Royal Mail have managed ok with the snow. I have emailed HDN (had to get teh email address through the phone line as it is not on their website) and cc'd Watchdog in. Just waiting a reply now.

If you want to email HDN's Customer Services the email address I was given is: hdnhlc@hdnl.co.uk

  • Got all my deliveries from Amazon who used HDNL they were probably 3 days longer than I would have expected, however the driver put them in my green recycling bin in back garden out of view and wrote on the card and put it through letter box
I was really grateful he did it as I am unexpectedly not in at the moment during the day,my parcels were safe & dry :-)

  • having trouble myself with this company too! laptop due on 15th. i knew it would be running late due to the backlog from snow> out for delivery on 16th. hdnl tracking shows it still out for delivery now from thurs! and on littlewoods where its ordered from it says delivery complete-maidstone depot. grr.
no one can give me any info and of course redelivery and collection have been temporarily suspended.also another item, one of two matching pieces dispatched at the same time never arrived from one hub to the next. im not holding out much hope for these and a few more presents being delivered before xmas or new year :(

I've had a parcel stuck at the Gatwick depot since the 15th , it was dispatched on the 6th. I've phoned to ask if i can collect it but have been told no they are not allowed into the warehouse to collect parcels for collection!

I understand that they have a big backlog due to weather but surely if the customer is willing to come and collect and save them the job of delivering it is barmy to say no?
  • I also have a parcel at Gatwick, loaded onto delivery van today, waited in all day, to be told they attempted delivery and its been taken back to the depot. They blody didnt! No card, nothing. Had to keep checking the tracking number to find out myself!!

No chance before Xmas now I bet!!
