These muppets decided that it would be highly appropriate to open my parcel in order to fit the contents through my letterbox. Was fuming! Especially as the book was damaged.
  • i purchased someting on ebay on 3rd nov. it was shipped from birmingham to near shrewsbury (2 hr drive). its now the16th nov. still no sign of the package thanks to HDNL

im looking at the tracking list on their webiste. its been from bham to wrexham 5 miles from here, held there since 5th nov. then returned to oldbury held there since 12th nov, i called them on 12th. they said its on the van for delivery today (12th) on the 14th i called again asking what is going on.
they said its on the van for delivery today (14th).
on the 16th i called them asking what the xxxx is going on
they said its been returned to the supplier, theres nothing they can do, not our problem, sorry about that, goodbye.

the three words pricks, incompetent, and scouse spring to mind.

i am now planning a trip to birmingham to pick up the package myself. its 10.43 now, i can be back here with it by 3.00 this afternoon.

We are not all pricks as you so kindly put it. I am just trying to earn a living with HDNL. I took me 9 months to get employment after being made redundant, and this was the only company at the time I could find employment with and would rather work than sit at home on the dole. I understand that a lot of people on this forum have had problems with HDNL, and I am under no circumstances saying they are perfect, but please do not tar all members of staff with the same brush. I would suggest you to keep on at your suppliers to stop using the company if you are really that unhappy with the service provided by HDNL.
  • You may well be correct but they took on the bit that bothers me.

Close enough for Jazz for me.

It would be good news if they hadn't been taken over by HDNL.
I too have had horrendous experiences dealing with HDNL. But two days ago they delivered two different parcels from two different suppliers (pets at home, and Amazon) both on time. And they were large boxes. I was very surprised.

I just want Amazon to go back to using HDNL and not the Yodel/DHL at Home side of things. Its a nightmare rearranging delivery when you are out because the idiot never fills the card in and when you do it through the depot number on the back of the card they ignore the date requested and just try delivering again the next day.

I rarely had problems when it was HDNL as they tended to delivery early evening when I was likely to be in and any time they did try when I was out I could at least rearrange delivery through the website.

would you like to break down that 'basic'?

they get 400 a week for monday to friday and have to work a minimum 8 saturdays a year at 100 each.that works out at 21,600.theyve just had a 3% pay rise(the first payrise in 3 years) which takes it to 22,248 a year.

As most of their drivers are self-employed, is that the gross figure (ie. before costs for van, fuel, insurance and tax)?

who says theyre mostly self employed???? i know for a fact theyre not.the wage im quoting is for employed drivers.self employed are paid completely differently.
