  • ordered a new xbox 360 from amazon and they have used this courier, had amazon send it to my company head office so i knew someone would be there to sign for it but low and behold at 6pm no sign of it. i go online to track it and it has been signed back in at the depot at 4:30 pm
I go down to the front office where any vehicle pulling onto the parking area can be seen and ask them about any delivery vans and the only one they have seen was the postie doing his rounds. I am livid the guy obviously couldn't be bothered to deliver it but pity for them cos the depot is just around the corner from me so i am in there tomorrow and givin em some verbal. Once i hear what kind of lame excuse they will try i will then be complaining to amazon, pity we cant choose who delivers the items on amazons website when we place the order...

Maybe the driver didn't have time to deliver the parcel , some days they have to do that due to sheer volume of parcels they have.

What delivery estimate did Amazon give , was it next day or in a few days time ?
  • delivery date was today 12/10/10 was told by them when i called to find out why it was back in their depot there delivery times start from 7am and cutoff is 7pm and he couldn't say why it wasn't delivered unless noone was there to sign for it. I told him there was 8 people in the front of the building that could sign for it and noone had seen one of their vans and also no card had been left to say they had even attempted to deliver.
Running late isn't an excuse either the only way to their depot is having to drive past my works building as they are on the same trading estate and there is only one way in and out and we are open from 6am to 10pm hence why i had it arranged to be delivered there rather than at home so that whatever time any delivery was made someone was about.. I'll see what there excuse is tomorrow when I walk the 400 yards to their building!!

A bit of news (good or bad depends on your point of view), Amazon traffic is starting to be transferred over to the DHL@Home couriers. Unfortunately, nobody told DHL it was coming and they had no idea what to do with them. They cannot be given to the regular DHL drivers as that is too expensive (£1.20 + per drop), but the @Home courier routes don't cover outlying and rural areas. The fun has begun!!

It will never work!, just pure organised chaos all round trying to cut too many corners. Best advice is to stick to Parcelforce, at least they are professional :)

Some 5 weeks ago my daughter was awakened at 07.00 by an HDN driver asking if she would accept delivery of a parcel for the next door neighbour. She agreed only to find the "parcel" was three large flatpacks which they tried to get into the house. They were asked to put them in the garage during which a crashing noise was heard. The documents were duly signed but no mention was made regarding the crashing noise so it was assumed that something in the garage had fallen over. On visiting the garage after the delivery vehicle had left it was discovered that one of the packages had smashed the window and was still positioned with the corner of the box protruding through. Having contacted HDN several times I am now informed that they deny the incident and have passed the complaint back to Littlewoods.
Having now scanned HDN on the net I discover that this company is the recipient of hundreds of complaints regarding it's method of operation and Customer Care, the latter I find to be non existant. Having taken in the packages as a favour to assist the company their resulting behaviour is appaling and no such favours will occur again. I would advise against anyone assisting this company in the future if they wish to protect themselves against HDN's unacceptable and poor performance.

Shop Direct own Additions and HDNL so they are not going to move to another delivery company.

    its simple
their staff get paid pennys and need to maximise their number of deliveries to earn
    so they cut corners

i wouldnt say a basic annual wage of 22k is pennies.

As most of their drivers are self-employed, is that the gross figure (ie. before costs for van, fuel, insurance and tax)?
