We live on a semi-main road (it's quiet apart from a primary school and a senior school also currently being constructed opposite us so lots of thru' traffic). Whoever delivers mine ALWAYS leaves it in our glass fronted porch in full view of every passer-by even though we have a granny-flat on the side of our house where my grandmother is always in during the day. It makes me so mad they don't even try knocking at this door and the fact that they also sign the delivery notes themselves where it specifies customer signature
Complaints don't get me anywhere eitherin a way although I'm sad to see all these stories it is comforting to know i'm not alone!

Just thought I'd add my tale to the list.
Got a card through the door saying my parcel had been left in a "safe place" ie - outside the front of my flat.
Rang to complain and they said that the driver recorded the delivery as being signed for by myself!
Not at all happy!0 -

Well I have the card clearly stating that the driver left it in a "safe place" rather than with me, so if I need to, I'll scan it and send it on.
I'm not holding my breath though.0 -
This thread reminds me of my neighbour... A well known local receiving my parcel. One mr red bin had it and I was to ask for it back. Sadly for mr red bin he had been attacked by the bin lorry and no longer had my parcel. Amazon saw the funny side and ave me new products- but I had to laugh at them for even suggesting a bin is a safe place for my post!If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0

Please make sure that you complain to the sender, not the courier. It will get better results.0

I placed two orders with Amazon this week (Amazon are brilliant by the way) and when I tracked them online I was advised that both had been delivered - one on the 30th Sept and one yesterday, 4th Oct. I have not received either so after many phone calls to HDNL, both nationally and locally, I discovered that one parcel was indeed delivered yesterday but not to my house! It was in fact delivered to the garden of a house about 100 metres down the road. HDNL suggested I go and find it which I refuse to do as I have just moved into this area and don't know exactly which house or the owner. I told her it is her problem to retreive it, not mine. The one that was supposed to be delivered on 30th Sept no-one has any idea where it is and who delivered it and to where! So, the wait continues....
Thank goodness Amazon Customer Services are brilliant and have arranged another delivery to me, this time using City Link as their carrier. Amazon should revoke HDNL's contract.0 -
I too had ordered from Amazon and they attempted delivery yesterday and I wasn't in. They left a card letting me know they had returned the parcel for safe keeping and that i was to re-arrange delivery, I used their website and asked to be delivered on Friday. Came home from work today and there is another card. Have chosen to pick it up instead. I am also waiting on another parcel from Amazon and they have used them again. They are absolutely useless. I find City Link the best.0

I made an order with Uniqlo 2 weeks ago, and they despatched it with HDNL after 2-3 days.
I came home from work on a Friday to find an attempted delivery card so went online to rearrange delivery for the next day, thinking it was a good coincidence it was a Saturday as I knew someone would be in all day. No parcel. So I phoned my local depot (Rochdale) at 5pm who tried to contact the driver on his mobile but he didn't answer. I was told he could deliver it the next day (Sunday) as he was a sub-contractor.
Waited in all day Sunday. No parcel. So I went back online and arranged redelivery for Monday. No parcel. On Monday night at 6pm I phoned them again. The lady on the phone asked "Are you sure you've not received it?" Erm, YES. Apparently the driver had marked it off as delivered but she could see there was no signature from the receiver. She told me they'd have a driver interview. I asked if next time they tried to deliver if no one was in could they please leave with a neighbour. This whole time it showed on the online tracking system as being on the drivers van since the Saturday morning.
On Tuesday whilst at work I tracked my parcel and it was on the van out for delivery, with a new date of that day. I came home to an attempted delivery card saying they'd taken it back to the depot. Pretty livid by this point. I arranged redelivery for Saturday, thinking it might be 3 days away but at least someone will be in. It's now 4.20pm, my package has apparently been on the van since 8.23am but still NO PARCEL  I've called them and apparently they don't have a cut off point for delivery, the driver works until all parcels are delivered. We'll see.
If I don't get it today I'll be asking for a refund from Uniqlo. It's a shame that HDNL's poor service impacts on other businesses who use them in good faith.0 -
