You need a multi-region dvd player.

It may be that your current one is physically multiregion, but has been locked through software, in which case entering an unlock code will sort it....googling "multiregion code XXXX" where XXX is the make/model of your DVD player may yeild some results, but I believe there have been (few) instances of people stuffing their machine completely trying tricks from the net...so take care.
  • Hello everyone!

Today i've opened a savings account. It is especially for a once in a lifetime holiday to Disney which i intend to book for 2013!

I know its a long long LONG way off, but when will i be able to book?? I know that once i book it i will have something to look forward to and it will make it feel more real.

The reason i've gone for 2013 is there are 5 of us going. Me, the hubby, and the 3 kids! :D We will be looking to stay in Disney itself so also does anyone have an idea which hotel would be best for us?? The more budget the better really. I know we would be MUCH better off staying somewhere like a villa or international drive BUT we really want to stay in Disney because we will only be going once.

Thanks to anyone in advance who can help! :D:D:D

Hi, Hope i can be of some help here, i stayed at the disney hotel and in a private villa with 2 kids, i must say the villa was best, the hotels at disney are not in disneyworld you still have to catch a bus to get to them, saying that if you stay in a private villa then you will need a car! Im going again this year 2013 and im looking at hotels In Kisammee or International Drive that do supply free transfers to both Disney theme parks, Universal and Sea World!!. I think it really is the best bet, if i can be of any further help please dont hesitate to ask.
    Regards Amanda
  • Disney hotels certainly are in Disneyworld! Yes you gte a bus, boat, train etc to get to different park entrances but there is no doubt they are pretty muich closer than any villa or non disney hotel

We prefer villas aswell and have stayed on I Drive for first trip and that would be your cheapest option probably, as some hotels are very very cheap in that area

You should be able to watch them on your computer if you don't have a multi-region DVD player.

  • Travel city direct are selling into 2013 so might be worth looking at them they are cheaper than virgin but backed by virgin(figure that out) We are a family of 5 and booked a villa as the thought of 5 of us in a room on disney property was well......I would have been up for murder after 2 weeks!! We stayed just off the 192 in Kissimmee - you would need a car but we could come and go as we pleased and not be tied to shuttle buses. Whatever you decide have a great time

After speaking to Virgin, they have clarified that Travel City are part of the Virgin group but without the 'extras'. When asked what these extras were they included: use of the V room at airport (which you have to pay for) a rep at Orlando airport and concierge at the hotel. A friend booking for DW in Feb 2013 has saved over £900 booking with TC compared to Virgin.

i've booked with Virgin, for 2 adults , 1 child staying in lake buena vista. Stayed here last time I was there. The price difference at the time was virgin was £200 dearer, but virgin fly to orlando where by Thomas cook fly to stanford, as we are flying from Glasgow.

My daughter will be 3, so hope the "kids" service is better for her, hence why booked with Virgin.

I've been to Florida many times, always booked via thomas cook, the very first time I went to Florida i went via London with Virgin, you get slightly more room on the plane and slightly more baggage. so we'll see what happens?

Any one else been from Glasgow with Thomas Cook and Virgin and noticed the differencE?

When can you book for 2014, package wise? We went this year but next year is not happening so need to start putting some pennies away for 2014 but would like to book as early as possible. Used Virgin Hols last time. Prices seem to have gone up for next year though, same dates same hotel but few hundred dearer hope it doesn't go up even more for 2014!

Do you honestly think it won't go up ?!

We started looking for Virgin flights for July next year, in June this year. Booked them as soon as they came out, glad we did, they've gone up £300 each since we booked ! I think you'll have more flexibility if you're looking outside school hols, Xmas, Easter etc. We're going in the 6 weeks holidays so had to book as soon as possible.

Expected but not by the amount it did for a random fortnight in March/April.

I will probably book up as soon as 2014 dates become available, either with VH or Travel City.
