OK, my mistake. Good for you.
Good for you also for finding the post that I made in which I said that I was vain... and taking it in context (not).
Why not note that I was trying to help and offer some kind of support or advice to someone with hair issues as a result of chemotherapy. Vain is just the word I used to describe my attempts to deal with my own hair issues and problems - which have been many and long-standing.
God, you make me sick.0 -

I must applaud you for one thing though GotToChange, being able to type and read comments whilst you have your head stuck up your *rse is a real party trick!
Classy.
And (un)imaginative.0 -
hahahaha! Cor shes going to give yourself high blood pressure herself up like that! Got to change, you reallly need to chill out! Lets get this into context. A joke was said - A JOKE!!!!!
Let me repeat that, It was a joke. A joke! Not aimed at you. I am sure you have found other jokes you have heard offensive - not everyone has the same taste. No need to throw your toys out of the pram.
GET OVER YOURSELF PURRLEASE! No one cares or is impressed if you have a horse - are an ex model etc, please stop trying to ram it down peoples necks! Maybe your 'reputation' or 'image' is all in your head and is far more important to you than anyone else. Personality counts more for possessions, and while you brag about how rich you are in one area, in the other area, you are sadly wanting. The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -

"She/yourself/herself...."? - correction; I actually can't even make any sense of your first sentence - and my BP is just fine - how's yours...?
And some people have no taste; your joke seemed representative of a certain type of attitude that seems to prevail nowadays - attack on older people. THAT was my problem with your attitude - I mean joke. I don't know who you are and have no wish - absolutely based on that one "joke" - to know anything about you. It was just so anti-female as well as age-ist. Ugh.
I am not trying to impress anyone with having a horse - it is a fact of my life (and as much a problem as a pleasure) so why brag about it. It leads directly into some of the issues I have had - that, even to me, are too boring and long-winded to go into. But nevertheless, true. I stressed the ex-model, as there is no way on Earth I could be one now - but that also stems from your mate's remark about my being vain. Anything I have said has been defence or explanation and I am acutely aware that it has totally derailed the thread.
Again, your comments to me have been beyond personal; but if jokes about menopause and knickers are what floats your boat, then I can see why we are not singing from the same hymn sheet.
Again - it just wasn't even funny. Seriously - why would any woman of any age find that kind of "joke" anything other than plain rotten.0 -
Ignore them, one's even made it clear that they are behaving like this because it's fun, quite pathetic, just ignore them all together."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0

Who mentioned the word 'knickers'?
No we won't agree, as we have very dis-similar sense of humour.
I disagree, re the attitude you say prevails people having a pop at older people - I would seriously say it is the other way around! What started this was another poster making a serious point about this - older women being spiteful to younger women.
In my workplace I have two middle aged admin assistants who are both female - and they are both extremely ageist and lazy. I have had to reprimand them on more than one occasion for saying 'we will leave the work to the younger ones'. Also they never miss an oppurtunity to make a spiteful remark about a younger female. The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
Heres a thought : why dont you all pipe down and let it get back to the original topic?
OP - any success in getting rid of the neighbour?0 -
Bloomin_Freezing2 wrote: »Why so :mad:? Of course no one is exempt of the ageing process, but some women do have problems with younger women for no obvious reason. Do I assume by your :mad: that you are an older woman too? Maybe you have problems with younger women - have you thought about that? Or maybe you are menopausal or suffering from dry lady bits as previously mentioned and that's what's got your knickers in a twist - literally!
Your goodfriend BloominFreezing.
Getting the two of you mixed up - and it is so hard to know where the joke ends and the insults begin.
I take on board your comment about your workplace - but my belief is that sometimes, people are horrid to people regardless of age; this thread is a case in point, as despite assumptions, no-one really knows anyone else's age- although if you and BF are young-er/ish, then God help the future of society.0 -
