Smoked haddock

I cant add to the recipes above - I just do smoked haddock gently poached in a little milk and water and serve with a big knob of butter!
but I would like to congratulate you on purchasing a KILO of smoked haddock for less than a pound!!!! where I live you couldnt buy a fish finger portion of smoked haddock for a pound! I swear that stuff is dearer than gold!
I do that too. Just in milk though, with some bread and butter on the side. The milk just needs heating up as the fish has already been cooked when being smoked. My dad and dh always mop up the leftover milk with bread too - yum! Us ladies are too nice to do that of course.0 -
you put it much better than me jackieb! yes, you just put the haddock in your pan, cover with the milk (i add a little water as that stops the milk accidently boiling over!) then heat up gently! it was my dads favourite tea! my OH loves it too - but its a very occasional treat as the price of fresh (real) smoked haddock has gone through the roof! I dont like haddock smoked - I prefer my haddock battered and with chips!0

I have a piece of smoked haddock and some defrosted chopped spinach, that I am supposed to be making this with...
But I don't feel like it! Not feeling the chowder love:cool:
Any suggestions? Am currently leaning towards florentine, with baked potatoes and creamy leeks and peas, but am sure I could be swayed
Thanks in advance0 -
Hi hotcookie
Smoked haddock and spinach lasagne? Or use it to make a fish pie served with spinach on the side?
You might find some inspiration in this thread:

I'll add your thread to that one once you've had more replies to keep the suggestions together.

Smoked haddock, and spinach pie. Yummy!0

Smoked haddock steamed in milk in the microwave + poached egg on top - the only way to eat it :P
Just wilt the spinach and then add in some creme/soft cheese.
Sounds like a lovely lunch to me.0 -
I would consider using egg whites and then baking with them the two ingredients and adding seasoning. The spinach would have to be squeezed out beforehand of course.0
