Smoked haddock

I really like smoked haddock with a tomato sauce (with peppers and paprika in is nice), I usually put a poached egg on top but you can obviously leave it out.0

For fishcakes, use roughly equal amounts of potatoes to fish. Add a little mustard for a bit of zing. Seasoning. Spring onion if you wish. Breadcrumbs optional.TL0

Poach the fish in water or milk, serve with rice and parsley/cheese/white sauce.:o0

fishcakes sound exciting
never made them before
will give them a whirl I think.
If I breaded the fish ( one egg for breading between us would be OK definately) how would I cook them? Fry? oven? Smething else?
Itll be after Xmas now as I went and bought insufficient potatoes for this! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Yum, I love smoked haddock....make a small mountain of mash on each plate, and then put a pile of steamed green beans on top of that, on the very top put a nice neat piece of poached smoked haddock. You could flash the haddock under the grill after you poach it, having smeared it with a bit of grainy mustard, or you could stir some mustard into the mash at the last minute. If you didn't have the cholesterol thing you could put cheese on top of the cheese and grill it quickly, or a poached egg, and for maximum artery destruction you could surround the pile of mash with some (bought) hollandaise sauce with grainy mustard in.
There's a pub we go to which does some or all of these thigs to a bit of haddock and tho I swear I'll try somehting new I always have the fish as it's SOOOOOgood. Oh dear I really fancy it now and it's sausages tonight.0 -

I've never fried it, just popped on a baking tray at gas 6 for about 15 mins each side.New year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0 -

Evening all,
Any idea's what I can do with a couple of fillets of it?
Tesco currently have some fresh fish on 3 for a fiver, so I grabbed a couple of packs of kippers and one of Smoked Haddock, but I'm keen to experiment with it a bit - rather than just grilled/fried with chips/spuds.
Cheers in advance!0
