It is worth considering that if the father is of a similar age there won't be any financial support from him in the beginning. What is he going to do, give her 20% of his pocket money?

Nope, he should give her all of it and his parents should be coughing up as well.

My thoughts were that it was a reaction to her father leaving, a craving for male love and attention without realising the possible consequences. Who knows? we are all speculating, and really I am not sure whether that is helpful to the OP.

Although I have to agree with Errata, she seems remarkably sanguine about all the uncertainty. I simply couldn't be that way.

How would you make her tell her then?

As an aside ( and not relevant to the OP) but pertinent to the subject of teen sex, my eldest is a teacher, he had a lesson today where his pupils had to write a piece on the subject of attractions in their home town which would interest visitors. One girl wrote about a local nightclub, saying it was a great place to get !!!!ed and laid.....she was 12.

but one thing has always been established very firmly especially through teenage years and that is I am the parent and YOU are the Child, what I say goes.

And one day they will be the ones caring for you when you are too weak/frail/senile to do so yourself. At that point it will be them saying "what I say goes". What goes around, comes around..........

I wrote quite a long post about it yesterday. I don't really want to add to it at this stage.
