For me people saying it is as high 50,60,80% etc.. is ridiculous, this is a case of people getting a good deal for a period of time then moaning that a good deal becomes a bad one, if this isn't the reason for the outrage it must be that they don't understand their tariff.

One example of this is people saying they are having a huge increase (more than the 10% on elec and 19% that Scottish Power are going up by) on Online Energy Saver 11,the tariff guarantees to be a minimum of 2% below standard direct debit rates until November 2011, Scottish Power ARE adhering to that as customers are going up as of 1st August BUT not to a price above -2% of standard rates - if don't want to see an increase like that don't opt for a tracker option which you are told may increase, go for a fixed or capped rate

and reading back......these statements above are a load of rubbish..

mine is going up much more than the stated "average"

and the fact that its going to be 2% below standard, doesnt carry any joy when the standard is rising by 32%...

and as ive just asked on another thread......Do you work for SP, as Ive not seen one criricism of them, from you...
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

EDF's fixed price isnt "racked up" as you say, its only £70 more than my SP OES12 was.........

Re OES14(with increase) ......surely it CAN'T be LESS than OES12.....

I find it hard to believe with the August 1st increase, any SP tariff can come out on top...It certainly did'nt for me....

Addendum..Just checked on Moneysupermarket, and for me SP's OES14 comes 13th in the list....the EDF fixed tariff that Ive changed to, comes 8th....(about £40 difference)

    1. EDF is £70 MORE

    2. OES14 didn`t increase but OES12 did.
OES12 at the new rate is £196 more for me than OES14
EDF fixed was only a saving of £80 for me.

    3. ALL the rest still have to increase whereas SP new prices are already into the comparison sites.
When the other 5 put up their prices it`ll make SP look even cheaper.
