    Hi needingaccountability,

    Just thought I'd pop in.

All seems to be going well with you (exploding shower aside!). Very jealous of the camping. I think I'm planning to go in September, maybe even Scotland too. Let us know how it goes.

I appreciate the messages on my diary, it's helping me keep at it, it's so easy to say 'sod it, money will look after itself' - it won't (at least not in my pocket, it always seems to escape!)

    Happy Monday!

Too true saverT, there is a real reason for the old saying 'look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves'. I've spent too many years 'sodding it' to know there is only one way that works.

Happy Monday to you too, hope you get your trip. My favourite place to head in Scotland is Glencoe but too late for that this year now, I really don't get on with midges! So staying further east out of the danger zone :)

  • Well that's another lovely weekend over. Hope to have a bit more positive action happening over the bank account switching and the tax credits happen this week. Finding it frustrating trying to forecast figures when I don't actually really know what they are. Patience is a virtue, I really need to work on that one.

Just done my weekly meter read and entered it into www.imeasure.org.uk to find the last two weeks ( didn't get it done last Monday with all the drama!) are lowest since last september. Don't like to see how much more it's costing me though despite being on the best deal there is at mo for me. Only plus side I can think of is the nectar points i get with British Gas.

After a busy (& lazy) weekend and leaving the kids home alone last night while we went fishing I now have a rather chaotic house to bring to order. So going to dust of my wings and pop over to flylady on fb and get some serious flying done today. :A (that's me and my wings):rotfl:

  • How kind of Egg to email me and say they are dropping my interest rate to 17.9% instead of 19.9% Why couldn't they have done that while I actually had a balance on there to charge interest on. Cannot wait for my 0 balance 2 months to be over and get rid off it.

Some forms came from bank to sign and they said would write again in a few days about the transfer so nothing quick happening there!

What I did do today that was money saving was finally pluck up the courage to phone the new dentist in town and register with them. (I hate dentists) When we first moved here we could only get private not NHS and the dentist was horrible then we managed to get in a practice out of town, 25 miles out of town. That's a 50 mile round trip and and a lot of time off work and school for hubby and kids. Plus can be very hard getting over the moors in winter months to get there. The new practice opened in town about a year ago but being so anti dentist I kept procastinating but as I picked up the paper to recycle I spotted the ad for it and phoned. So now the day after camping trip I have an appointment. Might never come back from Scotland!:rotfl: Seems the organization of finances has spurred me on to organise other areas of life too! :D

  • Well another sleep over, one day nearer my goal. Still no news from the tax credits which is annoying as I am not entirely sure of the success of my plans till my income figures are definately confirmed. Not a lot else going on, still another week till I have some spare money to throw at the ISA but realistically seeing as I'm on holiday then, it'll be a fortnight till I do it. Can't see me trying to do bank transfers on my phone, but you never know!

Bagged up another £17 in 1p & 2p's no doubt carrying it to the bank will not impress my shoulder much seeing as it's still not settled down yet after the fishing. But no gain without pain. It'll be nice to put a bit more in my sealed pot.

Need to stop wishing the summer away!!! :(

  • He he, just sold something on ebay. I'd already listed it twice and it not sold when I got an email yesterday from someone saying they had missed it twice and could I put it back up at a buy it now at 99p please?. I thought surely they could have stuck a 99p bid on it if they wanted it and said I would relist it on a 1 day listing for them to bid on, they were sure to get it as no one else was interested. So that's what I did, they bid and then wthin the last 2 mins of the listing it went to someone else for £2.20, oops :D:rotfl:

Still sore, but not as bad as it was. Am generally aching all over and running a temp now so not good. Should really put the laptop down, the fan blowing on me is not helping! :) I really hope I'm feeling better in the morning, got so much to do before the weekend.
