227 sleeps till I wake up debt free.

Good morning diary, the start of another week. A quiet one money wise, no paymet due to debt till next Tuesday so just a case of keeping on the straight and narrow this week.
Had a not to bad weekend, hubby needed some steps for work in the bathroom and we managed to get a set with my nectar points so that was good.
Both daughters have decided against Barcelona which is a relief but feels good they were able to freely make the choice themselves and it wasn't because I was pressuring them. The eldest was on a Paris trip last year and didn't fancy Barcelona in the cold. The youngest has just moved up to the school and would rather wait till next years trip when she knows more people. I'll have to remember to budget for such surprises next year.
Going to have to rejig budget too come September as the eldest has decided it isn't practical to continue with her Saturday job when she enters 6th form as her triple art class will be pretty intense homework wise. Mature decision but I found myself offering to up her allowance a bit to compensate. Such a shame EMA has been dropped but hopefully she might get a little bursary from the school towards cost of Art. Not banking on it though.
Menu planning today, will have to be more vigilant now kids are off school at sticking to budget, try sneaking out to shop without them :rotfl:LBM April 2011 £4906

Morning diary,
What an awful night it has been, I have come down with a terrible cold and hardly sleptFeel very rough this morning.
Realised last night when poor hubby wanted to buy something of ebay for £10.49 that I had squeezed my budget far too tight. He doesn't ask for much and is very cheap to keepso I purchased the instructions on how to convert his vw van into a campervan ( his little dream for now, will be post mortgage before I authorise that one!:rotfl:) And then sat down and looked at the figures again. In my enthusiasim I had brought my date forward to the beginning of October but as said absolutely no flex room and being school holidays etc was perhaps not one of my brightest moments.
So new revised and last date to be set (hopefully I can resist the temptation to fiddle again) is now 2nd November 2011. Still coming in a week early so happy enough to leave it at that. Trying hard not to wish away what's left off the summer but I so can't wait for that date!LBM April 2011 £4906

Morning, still poorly but at least I slept better last night. Got awoken by the plumber phoning to say he'll come and fit the new shower screen this afternoon so going to have to make an effort to get up and look presentable.
Not having much fun with my ebay selling endevours, apparantly a package I sent to Italy never turned up. To keep costs down for buyer I only got proof of posting didn't send recorded, never again! Anyhow when the buyer complained to me it hadn't turned up I checked with Royal Mail and they don't class international mail lost until 20 working days after posting. So I asked buyer to wait and see and if not turned up I would refund and then make a claim to royal mail. Got no replay to that email and next thing I knew they had raised a paypal claim. Which of course 'held' the funds paid and so I couldn't refund her. So having to go through the whole claim process, she escalated last night and I have responded to paypal to say I want to refund but they have my money, could really do without the hassle!
On a brighter note, I noticed when signing into halifax yesterday they were advertising a websaver account with 2.8% interest, decided to check rate on the websaver I already had with them that I'm using for my Virtual Pot and was shocked to see it say the interest rate was 0% So swiftly opened the new account and transferred my Virtual Pot over.
Saw a news report last night that seemed to be blaming people who pay of their debts and mortgages for slowing down the economic recovery. The world is a crazy place to live in, should an economy really be relying on people staying up to neck in debt and carrying on buying?
I am now going with the worst case scenario for my endowment mortgage shortfall. Which means I have a target of £8129.98 to save before 28 Oct 2014. Not going to be helping out much while I do that am I?:rotfl:So nearly exactly 3 years to save it up after my DFD. I think that is doableLBM April 2011 £4906

Nearly, nearly weakened today. I found myself halfway through filling in a registration form that would allow me to go to checkout with a woodburning stove
My only defence is I'm poorly and my brain must be malfunctioning with it. Fortunately I realised what was happening and managed to stop in time! :T
Plumber still hasn't shown, hasn't phoned to say he's not coming today either so not sure if his day is going as pear shaped as dear hubbys is (he's still not home either) or if he's forgotten all about usLBM April 2011 £4906

Italy is such a nightmare to send Ebay parcels too - lots of sellers have had the misfortune of finding that out
Good luck with your DF plans - you look like you are doing really well.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -

Thanks, just need to keep on the straight and narrow. My youngest daughter is 14 so got at least 4/5 years left of child tax credits (if they carry on that long!), trying to discipline myself and save up as much as I can during this time, in for the long haul saving after DFD. I couldn't do it without my MSMoney program I don't think, the projections into the future really keep me focused.
Lesson learned for sure with ebay, might not even offer to sell abroad in future

Another bad night, woken once again by the plumber who is going to pop in 'sometime' today allegedly. Hubby didn't think to ask am/pm so will have to be up and ready soon just in case.
I'm wishing now I'd done an online shop earlier in the week as have done menu plan but not been able to go shopping. Hubby has been sorting tea out while I'm poorly but it's nothing like my plan :rotfl:
Suppose it saves me a bit of time next week as I shift all the missed meals over there.
The sun appears to be shining so looks like the nice weather has reached us today. Better go get some laundry on.
Hubbys cd arrived on how to convert his van to a campervan so let the daydreaming commence

Just caught your diary- how awful that happened to your shower screen. No wonder you were fed up about it, i hope the new one is better for you.
The goals all look good as well.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
