Been pondering on why it is time has 'flown' by the past years when I've been merrily (or not so merrily) spending away but as soon as I start counting down to DFD everything grinds to really slow. I know I shouldn't complain, I have it really easy compared to people on here who are in it for the long haul of years before they are out of debt and sometimes feel like I'm a bit of a fraud with my measly £1800 but for me that is a lot. 10% of our total annual money to be cleared in the next 90 days and for someone who was brought up with the warning never to get into debt every £1 is laden with guilt.
On a cheerier note my darling daughter has arranged a camping trip over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Theres going to be about 18+ of us descending on a lovely little farm camsite that allows fires on the edge of the lakedistrict. Was lovely to find somewhere not phased by the size of our group, all family's and married couples, normally we need to sneakily phone up one by one to get together :rotfl: So at £15 per person for the 3 nights it's going to be good old fashioned cheap fun
Well nothing much to report on the money front, need to buy a bag of spinach today and I think that's about it

Hi Needingaccountability
I thought I'd just pop over and say hello seeing as though you posted on my diary, sorry meant to do it earlier but have had a few dramas at home!
Camping for £15 per person for 3 nights is brilliant, we are meant to be going away camping with some friends next weekend but we'll see if it happens as male friend is not very keen and will try any excuse to get out of it.
Will have a proper read of your diary later, take care xx0 -

Oh dear not a major production I hope. Can you not all go and have a wonderful time without the stick in the mud male friend? Or is he needed to do manly things whilst camping?:rotfl: Hope you do get away. I'd just live in my tent if I couldLBM April 2011 £4906

Hiya hun
I know how you feel with the lid occasionally being knocked off. I too bounce back quicker these days but we all need to let it out sometimes.
Hope you are feeling soooo much better now, you sound it.
Camping cost sounds great - it will be great fun I am sure.
I also know about the every £1 is laden with guilt - I was brought up the same and should not be in the position I am in today (however it's given me an appreciation for life and the important things in it)
Roll on DFD without life passing us by - there's a balance to be hadDebt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)

Loan 2 £1683

Thanks.
When I first started camping my main concern was good reviews on the toilet block, nowadays as long as it says clean I don't care, if it allows you to have a fire I'd make do with a bucket :rotfl: Though my kids would have something to say about that so fortunately it's never come to that yetLBM April 2011 £4906

I found that hilarious as it is just the kind of thing i do as well-Hmm, if you get a moment pm me the details of the farm as i am trying to get a few days away mid August myself.
I write drivel as well as enjoying other folks:p I have spent the best part of the day doing naff all and reading blogs and threads- shame on me..:rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

Been reading your diary, I know what you mean about being in debt.
My dear old dad would be horrifed at my debt, something he never had.
My camping place looks great, and good price even better.
Have a good day:)DEALING WITH MY DEBTS ONE AT A TIME

Yay into the 80's now, slowly getting there.
It's a gorgeous day out there, better make the most of it because the forecast for the weekend isn't looking so good.
DD 2 (the one who had narrow escape with the Avon) is off to hand in her notice today at her Saturday (school holiday) job, very proud of her coming to that decision herself. As Debtfree2012 said, balance is needed and when balancing time spent with family and friends as opposed to working it was nice to see what she valued the most. Plenty time to work when she has to, but I'd much rather see her happy and having fun while she is young. Her dad has had a wee brainwave of an idea of a business we can build up ready for her to take over when she leaves school in a couple of years which she can be involved in now without it impacting too much on her life so hopefully it will all work out.
So she'll be free to come on the camping trip too, no way would they have let her have a bank holiday weekend off so it's worked out good timing.
Right better get off here as the lovely day is running away with itself, catch up with everyone later. Have a good day.LBM April 2011 £4906

It's been a lovely day. Went for a walk along the cliff tops to Runswick Bay with some friends, had a pint of Black Sheep Ale in the pub  and then walked back along the beach as the tide was out. Lots of fossil hunting on the way back. The only way back up to the cars was up the cliff, assisted by a rope, very scary but we all survived:rotfl:
Hubby has now gone fishing and it's such a lovely evening I wish I'd joined him, consoling myself with a glass of the red stuff
