Thanks Bob, the new one has just been fitted. My nerves must be bad, the plumber didn't show himself just sent round his young, and I mean very young, sidekicks. I sat listening them do the job wishing my hubby had just done it himself. Which he would have been perfectly capable of but he wanted it done 'proper'. :rotfl:
So here we have it, one new, hopefully non-exploding showerscreenLBM April 2011 £4906

Well feeling much better today, not 100% but not bad enough to laze around reading books like I have been doing
Been very good for me though, I've read 2 books by Jennifer Worth, a midwife in 1950's London. Her stories of life there in the first half of last century are very humbling indeed. Read Call the Midwife and Shadows of the Workhouse, started the third one last night Farewell to the East End so need to resist the urge to carry on slothing and take longer to read this one. My daughter got lent them by a work collegue so didn't cost a penny
Today £11.88 rolling interest went out my egg account, got me wondering though how long is it going to roll for, will I get interest on that? I have no idea. Was surprised though to find 10p interest applied to my Halifax CC even though I paid it off in full as soon as last months statement arrived. I can't pay 10p online, lowest payment is £1 so going to have to go into branch with giro slip and my 10p, will feel very silly :rotfl:
Was going to go shopping this morning seeing as I've been in all week but found daughter has nicked off to work ( a 5 min walk down the road) in the car, says she felt too poorly to walk. As she works in a pharmacy I'm not entirely sure whether she should be there if she feels ill, thinks it might be a severe cat reaction after being in someones house but it also could be virus i've just had and she really doesn't want to be spreading that!
Off to do a bit of 'real' work for hubby. Hopefully get the shopping done this afternoon if still feeling up to it.LBM April 2011 £4906

Yay it's the weekend.:j
Yesterday didn't quite go to plan as by the time I got the car back I wasn't really feeling up to going into town. Popped round the corner to Lidl though and managed to get some bits and bobs in. One good thing though was that as I had totally run out of coffee I had to buy some in Lidl and it works out way cheaper. Have tried it out on family and we are all agreed it is fine so from now on going to be saving £'s on coffee. We only drink 'real' coffee so is quite an expensive habit really, you don't get many good offers on it at the Co-op usually when there is one the shelf is bare. Not sure why I've never thought of trying Lidl's before
Plan for this morning to is to tackle the ironing mountain whilst watching Saturday Kitchen, Hopefully get some work done with hubby in the garden this afternoon.
Have a lovely weekend.:beer:LBM April 2011 £4906

Had a lovely afternoon in the garden with hubby getting a lot of clearing up done. He goes a little mad cutting things back but it does look a lot tidier now so I'll forgive the broken plants he trod on :rotfl:
So after that I retired to the hammock with a well earned can of strongbow while he went fishing, I was soon joined in said hammock by 2 daughters and a Westie, not quite as relaxing as planned! And he's on way home now minus fish as nothing doing.
It's a lovely evening so going to sit out later and have a fire and a glass of wine. Love the school holidays and lack of worrying if uniforms are ready for Monday
All rested and ready for a new week of debtbusting starting tomorrow :TLBM April 2011 £4906

NSD who was I trying to kid? £138.44 paid for house contents insurance, on time,in full and on debit not cc card :j
Going to take stock of my cupboards and freezer before menu planning later today. See how many pennies I can save on food shop this week. Last week is looking good, got £30 of budget left over.:D Will tuck it away for days out with kids during the hols, also managed to not spend their dinner money and set that aside too, so looking good so far.
£2.96 ebay charges gone out of account today too, will have to find some time to relist some more stuff. The Italian case has been found in their favour, obviously seeing as they claim it didn't turn up so will also need to get my forms filled in and see if I can get anywhere with Royal Mail. At least the money was on hold so it doesn't actually feel like I've lost anything other than the postage costs so far but it is annoying.
Well back to work, got floors to vac and mop, a bit of dusting and mirror cleaning to do then I'm heading up the loft with the last bit of camping gear that was left in the garden room. I want it back to sit in!LBM April 2011 £4906

Whoop, whoop, the Avon Manager for our area was door knocking looking for some new representatives this morning. I wasn't really interested in doing it myself but my daughter was keen to give it a try. Being under 18 I've had to sign up but she'll be doing the work. Now for the whoop, whoop bit. I had to put in all my details online and apply, then the representative had to sign in and view my application which had been credit checked. Her jaw dropped and she said it was the highest first order limit she had ever seen set, at just shy of £800. She was trying to cover another application with her hand but before she managed I could see their order limit was £310.
So would seem I have a healthy enough credit score going on there :T
Hope daughter manages to earn a few pennies, if nothing else it'll keep her of facebook for a couple of hours a week and get the dog walked :rotfl:LBM April 2011 £4906

Well my daughters career as an Avon rep is over, or will be once I email the lady who signed me up yesterday and tell her we won't be doing it. I had serious reservations about it yesterday which the said lady skillfully talked me out of but in the cold light of day they were very valid. And she was very misleading.Thank goodness for cooling off periods!
I'm now left in considerable pain physically and emotionally as the whole episode has triggered of a reaction to my mum's death. she was 60 years young when she died of early onset dementia a couple of years ago, I have a very vivid memory of standing in her living room becoming increasingly inscensed at Avon for the financial mess she was getting into trying to be a rep while in the full throes it. Not good. I tried to put the problems down to the dementia but having looked further into can see how it wasn't entirely her fault. But it's knocked the 'lid' off where I keep my feelings and I'm a tad weepy and aching all over today. I know it won't last, I do bounce back quicker from such periods these days but could really have done without it. Much prefer keeping myself protected from such triggers!
Anyhoo, things seem to be progressing with the bank switch with new direct debits appearing so that's good. Paid my 10p cc bill yesterday much to the amusement of the counter staff :rotfl:
Today I'm off to visit my friend in hospital with terminal cancer, then a wee bit of retail therapy. Cash only!LBM April 2011 £4906

Mmm, seem to be back in mad lady talking to herself again mode.
Last of the big spenders me, so much for my 'retail therapy' £10.40 on lunch for 3 of us in hospital canteen plus £4 for shoes in Primark. I've spent to long looking in charity shops and just wander around thinking 'I'm not paying that!'.
Back of to the hospital again tonight to see hubbys mother who is in for a knee operation today, friend with cancer get's too tired for evening visitors hence the double trip. Only 120 miles in all by end of day.LBM April 2011 £4906
