Received an email from Tesco today offering me a 7.9% Life of Balance. No fee.0

Cleared my Nat West Platinum a couple of months ago and now want to transfer some more BT on so am after a decent offer from them, have rung them up and said I wish to cancel the card and the best they can offer is 3.9% for 6 months with 3% fee or 7.9% for 6 months with no fee both then revert to 13.9% , neither seem particularly decent offers so is it worth pushing it or is this the best I can hope for ?
Someone on this thread mentioned a decent 0% deal before Christmas but notsure if it was the Platinum Card, is it worth hanging on and hoping they change their offers ?
Thanks in advance for any advice,0 -
Just took 5.9% LOB offer from Halifax (3% fee) - plus an unrequested credit limit increase.0

Pushed it and got nowhere, they were quite happy to close my account and not offer a better deal but he did say that the deals are dependant on account use so as I had not used mine for a while I may not get as good a deal as one with some recent usage, no idea if this is true or not though or if he was just trying to get me to keep it and use it for purchases.0 -
Might be worth try taking another card out if you already have one with Virgin. My other one is still within the BT promotion, but wanted another card to transfer a balance from .... so applied for another one. They approved me!
Worth a try as MBNA are a big lender and they did in fact tell me a while back you can have many accounts with them even under the same umbrella - i.e 2 x Virgin or 2 x Alliance & Leicester etc.
Good luck!0 -
Danjaq - Have they approved your balance transfer? I'm surprised at what you say (not saying it's not the case - I'm just surprised) because the small print for MBNA cards always *used* to say that they wouldn't balance transfer from other MBNA cards.
HFMEverything turns out all right in the end. If it's not all right, it's not the end.

Does it really matter with any MBNA cards? MBNA cards allow SBT(super balance transfer i.e to your bank account). SO it is very simple to do if you have multiple MBNA cards.
transfer the amount to your current account and then repay the balance on the other card form your current account!!.:beer::beer:0 -

I am not doing a balance transfer from one MBNA to another - some other amount from another card. You can always do a money deposit from a MBNA card into a current account and then use that money to pay off a balance on another MBNA card if that is what someone was looking to do.0 -

Hi, I'm new to all this but have been reading the posts and just wanted to check before I did anything! I have a Capital One credit card and in desperate need of transferring the balance and currently thinking of the Virgin card 0% for 16 months, but would like to know whether I should first talk to my exsisting card provider to see what they can offer. Is this a good idea, or should I just go ahead and transfer? All response welcome, Thank you.:rolleyes:0
