Geez - what is it with you that you do not understand I am saying to you?
I understand exactly what you are saying but it is wrong as you have been told and shown many many times

The OP asked for the phone to be canceled under DSR - that is not immediate - it requires the item to be sent back.
The next step is the OP gets a packaging to return the item
Wrong ...he asked for the Airtime contract to be cancelled ...that has to be done regardless of when they get the phone back.
Yes it is immediate ...the customer only has to return the phone within reasonable time ......if the phone does not turn up the phone will be charged for.

Upon return of the phone - the network or retailer will action the cancelation request providing the phone is returned in the condition stated in the terms and conditions of purchase of a mobile contract service.
The contract is already cancelled all that they will do is put it to bed that everything is returned and so clear the account.
Untill that happens they can do is wait and if anything is missing or damaged charge the customer for.

Now give it a rest and lets wait untill the OP hears back from 3 ;)

WRONG - The OP destroyed the sim card as requested when he phoned to ask for the contract to be canceled. The sim card will still be active if the bills are still arriving.

I might get a new phone soon myself - I will get the iphone 5 on contract. I will ask to cancel it within 7 days and may just pay for £300 for the phone. Whoopeee.

How can the sim card be active when it was never fitted and was cut up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You can get an i phone if you want but I would imagine the bill is going to be a lot more than £300 ;)

    My previous observations stand ;)

And that bill is the bill for the contract line rental - the early termination fee.

Flipping heck - a new sim card once delivered to the customer is activated within 24-48 hours. You do not need to put it into the phone for it to be activated. DOH!

The reason they ask for sim card to be destroyed is stop the customer (or anyone else) from using it till it gets properly deactived (which takes another 24-48 hours).

For goodness sake Oneaday ...if a sim is never fitted the account cannot be activated by the signal from the sim.

Just because it's a live sim makes no difference.

Now give it a rest ;)

Oh in that case, I must remember to order my iphone and not use the sim card - then I can have a free phone to keep.

Now you give it a rest :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So funny ... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: rolling smilies
