Keep at it :D I'm not even sure I can run for a minute yet (not timed myself).

If you can, for the next three weeks try and train three times a week just to get yourself used to running again. But if your shins are hurting, I'd be careful not to exacerbate the problem - do you get shin pain when you are running as well as resting?

My RFL is on june 4th, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere with my training - started off very, very unfit(couldn't even run for a minute), but seemed to improve week by week and up until 2 weeks ago i thought " hey I may actually be able to do this" but the last couple of weeks i seem to be going back wards, have been poorly with a bad cough and cold, also shins and thighs have been hurting quite a bit, so have struggled to complete 3 x Min runs in each session, and have only managed to train once this week - I was really determined to run the K and feel that I've failed as I don't see how I'll be able to get back on track, as I only have 3 weeks to go - any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Thanks nottslass - good luck for your race. Just remember i doesnt matter if you run walk or crawl - its the taking part, raising money & raising awareness that counts.

I am running Hastings on June 17th with my daughter and some friends. Haven't done any training yet so my hopes of beating my 25min best time aren't looking too promising

I'm walking Hastings with my best friend. She lost her 6 year old nephew last July so we're doing it in memory of him. Her sister, his mum, is doing the one local to where she lives and there's people all over the country doing the race in honour of this very special little boy...........see you there and good luck to everyone everywhere taking part, walking, running, rolling or crawling!

    Hi,

Me, my 9yo daughter and 3 friends ran race for life at Hull on Sunday..we ran the whole way round apart from slowing down to dodge round people..we did it in 32 mins which we were chuffed with as it was so hot and sunny!!!

4 weeks ago I could only run 2 or 3 mins at a time! We have enjoyed the training for it so much that weve decided to keep at it and train towards a 10k race later on in the year!

We went out for a run last night and did 3 miles in 29,59 mins...so just beat Sundays time!

Good luck to anyone with a race still ahead!
