Now I presume that when these, ahem, hard working hard done by people go on strike they wont get paid..
Doesnt that mean they will save the country a fortune...
I say they should have at least one strike a month then...
Bang on I say

One day some company will do what they say they will do and charge a fair charge.:T
Not doing the opposite of that which they promise and charge you a fortune for the privileged.
Or maybe not:mad:

Well, think what you might about public sector pensions but the pension arrangement was an agreed part of employment contract. They are now going to charge us more, pay us less and make us claim it later.
I'm not personally going on strike as I'm in the other union but I totally agree with them and good luck to them. Might cost the tax payer less but not sure who's going to look after their kids for the day.0 -
Personally I think, those that do, have cheek going on strike.
Most people in the private sector have had pension rights reduced and told that we have to work until later in life and contribute more whilst earning less and working longer hours.
Then because your super duper pensions are having to be funded your hiting the hard working average man/woman by striking.
The government dont give a !!!!! It wont effect them.
All that and you get school holidays of as well....the cheek of it;)One day some company will do what they say they will do and charge a fair charge.:T

I have no problem with people going on strike for genuine reasons, but I suggest these people have a look around and see what people in the private sector have had to go through for many, many years now.
I really do think they need to take a deep hard look at how this country has been hit. It's like the strikes the BA staff held, I would never fly BA again now due to this, it just highlighted the ridiculous pay and benefits they get.Per Mare Per Terram0 -

Thats right - they will lose a days pay for every day they are on strike and will get a token payment from their Union. Some could be getting around £25 for the days strike, if that.
Just like us in the private sector who have also had their pensions reduced and taxed also by the last govt..
Its not as if i dont value the jobs that they do but in the private sector we have to pay an awful lot more of our wages % wise to get a similar % when we retire."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

I have started my own business. Don't remember ever saying the private sector have it easy. I know from experience they don't. Just don't see why public sector workers have to pay for the failings of the banking sector.0 -

they are not paying for the failings of the banking sector. ....!
They need to modernise and get with the program. Final salary schemes are gone, we aare all living longer and are expected to work longer. (Including bankers!) Many people in the private sector haven't had pension contributions at all, I havent had one for over 10 years now.
Striking is a disgrace, but if they want to lose wages, then fair enough. Their loss.0
