Public Sector Strikes

That is exactly what is happening, teachers ARE being punished, and not just teachers don't forget, it applies to all public sector workers (who incidentally are taxpayers as well!!)
Yes they are taxpayers - but they dont end up paying as much into the system as those of us in the private sector do. In fact if you take an average pay level of 20K then your 23% tax rate of that doesnt leave much overall of what goes towards your pay, national insurance and pension contributions that comes out of the public purse does it.
Pensions need a reform - they are not taking any money from your pension that you have already acquired just saying you will have to pay a little bit more - an extra 3% - and carry on for a little bit longer in your job. Just like we have to do.
For people who bang on about wanting equality and such like you dont appear to want things to be very equal at all do you.one of the famous 50 -
Wow - use of unexplained jargon tries to win the point. You've made me look it up now and what do I see written right accross the top, straddling both categories - "substantial employer contributions"

Perhaps classic and premium are much worse though. lol
"premium" ....... they're all frickin premium mate!
Just out of interest , Rotor, you do realise that most of the figures and statistics you have quoted on this thread where actually compiled from (shock, horror) information gathered by the very same public sector workers you are saying as so incompetent and unworthy. Hate to put it to you but therefore all your so clear and logical arguments are flawed, but dont worry, its clearly not your fault . Every bad thing in the entire world clearly stems from the public sector.....not.0 -

I have said these strikers should be ashamed of themselves (i stand by that ), I have said they are over pensioned ( I stand by that ).
I have NEVER said public sector employees are incompetent or unworthy.
Where are you claiming I have? All you have to do is press the 'quote' button. Just give us the post number then. Come on ; anything0 -

And the trains had more seats. There were also a lot less school children.
Keep it up. The country is saving a fortune by not paying you for the day.Iva started Dec 2018.0 -

Except thousands of parents aren't being productive as they need to take a day off. This costs the Country, so don't dwell too long on your "savings" argument.0 -

I think it was tongue in cheek to be honest...but you probably to worried about having to work a couple of extra years to have got that...:D
BTW, I have no sympathy for the public sector workers as I will have to work until I am 75, which is the maximu my pensions seems to allow and even then ill get about £4000 per year.
Admittedly I'm not paying into it at the moment so that may change but should i not put petrol in the car or pay the electricity bill to pay a little in every month.
If I could get a job in the public sector I would but they are as rare as rocking horse !!!! at the moment just like good jobs in the private sector.
As I have said before. We are in this together, all people are equal, just some are more equal than others.
GOne day some company will do what they say they will do and charge a fair charge.:T
Not doing the opposite of that which they promise and charge you a fortune for the privileged.
Or maybe not:mad:0 -

I'm sorry but that is such a poor argument, the only difference between the Private sector and the Public sector when it comes to contribution vs benefit is the route the money takes. where do you think the money that pays your wages come from? it ultimately comes from all employees spending their wages, that is what creates business, so both public sector and private sector employees pay your wages and fund your pension.Pensions need a reform - they are not taking any money from your pension that you have already acquired just saying you will have to pay a little bit more - an extra 3% - and carry on for a little bit longer in your job.
