bella.. there was some in depth research done a few years back in terms of pre-eclampsia.. what they discovered was that is you get it in your first pregnancy you are MORE likely to get it in your third as first and third pregnancies are often quite similar.. but you are highly unlikely to get it in the second pregnancy. I cant recal who did the research but it was one of the top universities I believe..

  • Hi Ladies

I do regualy read this thread I just don't post that often. One because I don't have much to add and also because it moves quite fast so I struggle to keep up with who is who. I am trying :)

Somone mentioned triple choc mars bars yesterday. Sound fab but not seen any here yet. I shall be on the look out.

Finding work difficult now. 3 flights of stairs to the loo as the disable loo is blocked off at the moment so I'm shattered going up an down stairs. Otherwise all ready I think.

Who ever asked about pain I had loads and thought it was just AF arriving. Didn't have bleeding but I know that although bleeding isn't normal it is quite common.

Right house work to do then.

Me either! This pregnancy has definitely put me off for life!

When I was in hospital the other week, the doctor said that some informal research had been done into pre-eclampsia which showed that if your second baby was to a different father than the first you were also more likely to develop it.

Thanks for explaining blood pressure Lirin - thats information I've always wanted to know but never bothered to find out!

I've been shredding paperwork all afternoon and now feel much more relaxed. Just need DH to come home and put me in a bubble bath and then I'm sure my blood pressure will bottom out again!

Hi Ladies, I'm just over from<12 weeks again with a question. Have any of you had implantation cramps and/or bleeding at 6ish weeks? I'm 6+5 (I think) and last night had terrible cramps (made me dizzy, clammy, felt sick) followed by a small amount of spotting (which was pinky brown). I've also had a tiny amount of brown spotting this morning. As the cramps were so bad DH took me to the out of hours GP (at our A&E) who said he was pretty sure it wasn't an ectopic, could be an early sign of a miscarriage but was most likely implantation!! I did say I thought it was a bit late for that but he assured me not. Mr google has found me quite a few other people who've been told the same thing at a similar stage and one site (babycentre I think) said it can happen anytime within the first trimester.

Just interested to know if any of you have experienced similar.

ALso, as the cramps and bleeding happened pretty much together is it likely that they are not related due to the blood being brown, therefore old? I've had similar cramps before (we weren't even TTCing then so not related) but that was ermmm my digestive system playing up shall we say!! I am a little bloated and windy (sorry for tmi!) atm so I wonder if the cramps were related to that and the spotting was a coincidence.

I guess it could be anything really!

I have an early scan on Monday so hopefully I'll know more then.

    Thanks guys xx
I'm sorry to hear of your pain and bleeding, I understand how worried you will be feeling at the moment. Unfortunately for me, these symptoms did point to an ectopic pregnancy even though the doctor who examined me (externally) said he didn't think it was (it turned out the baby had implanted right at the top of my tube, close to my ovary so not easy to feel). I had brown/pink blood and cramps which developed into extremely painful cramps later that evening. To be honest, once they'd passed a few hours later, I didn't have much in the way of pain, but I did continue to bleed slightly (it was a darker colour, not bright red). I also just felt 'wrong', I'm generally quite a negative person anyway, but I just knew there was something not right. This happened on the Thursday and I was scanned on the Monday. Are you getting any shoulder pain or pain when going to the loo? These are typical signs of an ectopic pregnancy however I must say I didn't experience them. If you have any questions about ectopic pregnancy please ask, if I can help I will. It's good you're having a scan on Monday, that should help rule it out as a viable pregnancy will be visible by 7 weeks. Good luck xxx

Oh a bath sounds nice..... Though that usually results in twice the length of time spent in the bath lying on the floor afterwards- my logic being if I'm already there, I won't hit it.....

Since I realised- both from on here, and the midwife- that the strange tight feeling I'm getting is likely braxton Hicks, I've realised I get them roughly once a day, occasionally skipping one.... Which seems a lot, though Google (meh, if it's something I can Google...) assures me it's normal enough...

Bless him. Dad's are the best :o Every call starts with "are you feeling ok" and me saying "if I ever feel not ok Dad you will be the first to know"

    My dad's fairly laid-back.
My mum on the other hand- every night, at 1950hrs- a phone call. Invariably, she has no time to actually speak, as she has to to work, run to the shops, answer the door..... If I don't ever answer for whatever reason, dad will be dispatched on an hours drive after an hours arguing....
