Hi Ladies, I'm just over from<12 weeks again with a question. Have any of you had implantation cramps and/or bleeding at 6ish weeks? I'm 6+5 (I think) and last night had terrible cramps (made me dizzy, clammy, felt sick) followed by a small amount of spotting (which was pinky brown). I've also had a tiny amount of brown spotting this morning. As the cramps were so bad DH took me to the out of hours GP (at our A&E) who said he was pretty sure it wasn't an ectopic, could be an early sign of a miscarriage but was most likely implantation!! I did say I thought it was a bit late for that but he assured me not. Mr google has found me quite a few other people who've been told the same thing at a similar stage and one site (babycentre I think) said it can happen anytime within the first trimester.

Just interested to know if any of you have experienced similar.

ALso, as the cramps and bleeding happened pretty much together is it likely that they are not related due to the blood being brown, therefore old? I've had similar cramps before (we weren't even TTCing then so not related) but that was ermmm my digestive system playing up shall we say!! I am a little bloated and windy (sorry for tmi!) atm so I wonder if the cramps were related to that and the spotting was a coincidence.

I guess it could be anything really!

I have an early scan on Monday so hopefully I'll know more then.

    Thanks guys xx

I had terrible cramp early on, so much so I was gripping onto the trolley going round asda, this was before I found out so thought it was AF coming :o no spotting though.

Am back - I parked in the disabled bay out the front like receptionist told me to! No way was I paying another quid to park just for a bl00dy blood test! Results tomorrow so just got to wait and see I guess.

Re parking - I go to the local town for my consultant/scan appointments and that's only 50p per hour to park but the hospital I am giving birth in is 45 mins away! Parking is ridiculous - you can never get a spot and end up in the A&E carpark which is then a big walk back to the main hospital.

Washing powder - use Tesco non bio normally but will use Fairy for baby's clothes. Have to say Fairy is rubbish for getting stains out so when you start weaning don't bother using it!

Just back from the midwife. Lots of "ah bless you poor pregnant person" looks that I wanted to slap. Stupid student midwife did all the measuring etc, baby is measuring big and she says he's "sturdy". Blah. Also said my blood pressure is fine. Well bullcocks is it - this time last week it was 90/55, while I was in hospital the highest it went was 115/65. Today its 140/85. I'm not flipping impressed at all.

Think I may have anger issues....

Pigpen - I can't handle someone else in my house either, unless I know exactly when they are leaving. And certainly not to "stay" DH has been told in no uncertain terms to make sure anyone who wants to visit once I get home needs to ring first and if I say no, I mean no. Would OH try to discourage his mother or does he like the idea of having her there?

So long as it is under 90-100 they arent fussed..

He thinks he ill find it helpful to have her here... I just want to hide she means well but she does my noggin in!

A bit of implantation spotting at 6 weeks is normal.. the baby is etting snuggly and the placenta starts to work.

Cramping you get throughout pregnancy.. it helps with stretching and shifting your internal organs about and your uterus contracts normally pregnant or not that is how it stays healthy and supple.

Lisa26 - I had terrible cramping early on but never any bleeding. Lots of people have had spotting early on though and its completely normal so try not to worry!

Please let us know how you get on at your scan.

winnie - mine was 120/80 today but is usually 100/60, 110/70. And midwife did bloods just to be on safe side, think if i hadnt have had pre eclampsia previously she wouldnt have bothered. If your concerned ring ward and ask for a 2nd opinion especially with you being in the other week.

Lisa I had a bit of spotting early on and got myself in a right flap turned out to be nothing, I know its easier said than done but just relax and good luck for the scan on monday hopefully that will put your mind at rest :)

Every blood pressure reading consists of two numbers or levels. They are shown as one number on top of the other.
The first (or top) number is your systolic blood pressure. It is the highest level your blood pressure reaches when your heart beats.
The second (or bottom) number is your diastolic blood pressure. It is the lowest level your blood pressure reaches as your heart relaxes between beats.

It's essentially a range reading, using bar pressure of a type.
