gaviscon I hated, so left it. Doc gave me Maalox, which was similar to crushed up polos in water- yuck. Decided I'd just deal with it.

DH isn't being mean. :) Just seriously misguided! He's normally quite a level person, don't know what he was thinking with this. She already does have doubts, pp, yeah, but I've said I'd rather it tail off the way it did in my house, where we realised gradually who Santa was (nothing to do with the price tags left by accident on items, or the fact we could all forge my Mum's signature by then so easily recognised her handwriting.... :) )

I *think* he was thinking more along the lines of trying to let DSD know that she's getting older and isn't the child anymore, but- men. I told him this is best left with all the other discussions I deal with, such as periods, first kisses, where babies come from etc. He agrees now- he's a little red-faced looking at your posts and admits it wasn't his bestest lightbulb moment. :)

Lirin I'm glad he saw sense... I wanted to reply to it, and I wrote one but then lost the courage to post it as it seemed really rude :o

It's alright! DH is normally sensible and probably more caring and emotional than I am- but major fail on this one. :) I've already told him it's the stupidest suggestion I've ever heard.... He has now seen the light and accepted my wisdom is much greater than his.....

I'll not complain about back, hips, ankles today. I've given up with them! Sofa I think.
  • Thanks for the warm welcome back to Blighty ladies :) Whilst where we live here in the UK isn't quite as pretty (or hot) as Sydney, it feels good to be back and my social life has kicked in again so I'm pretty sure moving home is the right thing to do... Just need to find somewhere for OH and I to live now....
AND .... highlight of the day ... I've just seen my bump move for the first time ever. Obviously I've felt kicks and movements but this is the first time I've seen it move :D

Gosh, we really are bump buddies as we saw mine move for the first time yesterday too!! OH was quite impressed with the clout the baby gave! He's felt the kicks a few times, but seeing it brought it home even more - as did seeing a friend with a 10 day old baby - holy crap that freaked me out thinking we'll have a real live one of those soon!

I'm off to re-register with my docs and find out what I need to do to get into the "system"... Starting pregnancy yoga next week with my bestie who's also preggers and then the hynobirth class starts next Saturday so it's all go!

Back to work on Thursday which I have mixed feelings about really - the control freak in me is keen to get back to my work, but not looking forward to being in close proximity to horrid boss again....

Happy Tuesday girls, BM :) x
  • Quick Q – When are you all starting your mat leave? Flumpette due 26th Dec, I work P/T – Was planning on going on Mat leave from 5th Dec 2011 – 5th sept 2012. I have been told that
“Mimi can be away for up to 52 weeks on maternity leave. She will choose when she wants to start Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and leave. SMP and maternity leave cannot start before the 11th week before the week the baby is due unless Mimi gives birth before then. For early births – SMP and maternity leave begin the day after the birth.
Company will then confirm the date in writing including when you expect her back. If Mimi is returning earlier than previously planned or later than the previously agreed date she must give you eight weeks notice of when she intends to start work again”
I had planned to take shortened Mat leave due to wages – SMP is for 39 weeks – If I go on Mat leave 5th dec then I stop being paid w.c 27th Aug 2012 – will be back at work the following week (On the 5th Sept)
However – boss is REALLY grating me – so much so I’m ready to walk out and go home today and tell him I’ll be back tomorrow!
If I started my Mat leave 11 weeks before my due date (Which would be 10th Oct) what would happen after the 39 weeks? Will I have to rely on Tax credits as an income? technically wouldn’t be unemployed so cant JSA it ?

It's an ache in my groin. I don't think anything is swollen as nothing is sensitive to touch. It's just making walking extremely uncomfortable. It feels a little like when you've pulled a muscle.
Whoever it was that had something similar, did you find out what it was? Or how to relieve it?

Can anyone help me on the above...plllllllease.

Mimi, I think after your 39 weeks, because you're technically still employed you aren't entitled to anything. That's why I'm having to go back to work after the 39 weeks. However, if I'm wrong (and I hope I am) and you can get something I'd be interested to know as I'd def take the full year off then. :)
