I'm still here! Have pretty much just been sleeping since I got home and also can't sit up for very long without being sick so using a laptop is tricky! Just catching up on the past few days now - thanks for thinking of me thoughxx

Well I've read back and promptly forgotten everything!
I'm 34+1 today I think and got more stretch marks than normal skin on my stomach!
The dudes at the hospital just liked my company I think, there doesn't seem to be a reason why they kept me in for as long as they did. I had blood tests for everything, had all my internal organs scanned, baby had a growth scan (they reckon he's weighing 5lbs already) and was monitored several times a day for 30 mins each time but all the consultant could say to me was "you're pregnant". Erm, duh?
So what started out as pre-eclampsia, progressed to gallstones, then reduced kidney function, then the itchy liver thing and severe dehydration turned out to be just pregnancy. Ah well, guess its all been checked and I should be reassured but I still have the original pain in the top of my bump, I'm itching from head to toe, I can't keep anything down except tiny sips of water and the odd rich tea biscuit, I'm seeing flashing lights and my head spins constantly, my hips are excruciatingly painful, breathing hurts, I feel seasick and I can't move. But there's nothing wrong....
But I'm home, and if I've got to be sick anywhere, I'm far happier being sick in my own bed - in my newly completed bedroom! It looks fab, DH has done an amazing job.
Sorry for the whinge....hope everyone is doing wellxxx

Aren't they wonderful? One of the twins asked a random PG lady at a bus stop why she was so fat when they were younger, I was a bit horrified to say the least - fortunately the lady saw the funny side and explained!
At least the woman was pregnant! My DD can't always tell the difference between fat lady and pregnant lady. Maybe because I'm a bit of both!
I'm 36 weeks or so. Starting to [STRIKE]think[/STRIKE] panic about the birth too.
Oh bless you winnie You sound really sick! At least you have been checked out, and as you say, better to be at home. Hugs!!First Baby born January 2007

i'm confused (doesnt take too much) if i have the baby today or tomorrow she'll be the youngest in her school year but start a year earlier than if i hang on til Sept? if i do hang on til my due date (3rd) or go over, she'll be the eldest but start a year later? or have i got that totally wrong?Skint, but happy (ish):p0

Winnie I hope you have a bowl and are not being literally sick in bed  Your poor DH if you are... sicky bedding is the pits lol
Twinkle if you had baby on the 31st August they'd start school the day after their 4th birthday. If you had baby on the 1st sep then they'd start school the day before their 5th birthday so yes if you have baby tomorrow she'll be the youngest and go a year earlier.
DD1 is an August baby and was one of the youngest. Her cousin was born on sep 1 (in the early hours of the morning) and started school at 5! However he was a very bright boy and totally ready for school and IO think he found it frustrating to wait. I know he'd drive poor SIL mad sometimes.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

lol that's OK then. Those sick bowls are quite versatile... when I was in hospital before the twns were born DD1 decided they were hats and put one on her head  fortunately it wasn't a used one :rotfl: anyway the MW's let her take it with her to paint at my mums, mum found a picture of her with it the other day, can't believe how small she looks!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Hello everyone. I'm 33wk 4days.
Sorry to hear you're feeling rough Winnie.
I'm feeling really miserable today, health wise. I've been ok-ish up till now. I have a stinking head cold making me feel really run down, and the pain that someone mentioned on here a few days ago, i think Ecoelle but not sure. It's an ache in my groin. I don't think anything iss swollen as nothing is sensitive to touch. It's just making walking extremely uncomfortable. It feels a little like when you've pulled a muscle.
Whoever it was that had something similar, did you find out what it was? Or how to relieve it?0 -

Dh suggested last night that we include a note from Santa to DSD this year, saying that as she will start secondary school soon, this will be the last year he can buy her presents as he doesn't buy for bigger girls.
I veto'd that idea- with a new baby, I don't want DSD feeling her Christmas is spoilt because it's not only the last one from Santa, it's also less attention as obviously baby will get a lot...
My suggestion was instead of setting ourselves up directly for a crying match, why not say nothing at all, and from next year on, do as my parents do (Yup, still get Santa presents at 30!) and scale it way down? What I get now is a stocking wrapped, but it's all useful stuff- socks, deodorant, hairbands- all the useful cheap stuff you always need.
He still maintains we should tell her that Santa doesn't exist- that's probably not the best idea with a new arrival in the house in any case!0
