Been having some really random pains over the last few days, in the area of my right bum cheek, but not fleshy, more nervy or like someone's stuck a needle deep inside my cheek! Has been fine all today when we have been out, but have come home and sat on sofa for a bit and then it kicked off. Hard to put much weight on it when it hurts which gets annoying. Dunno what it is but I hope it goes as quickly as it came

Hiya yummy mummy, I get this on and off. Used to get it before when I was doing training for my moonwalk last year too. I think it's the sciatic nerve getting nipped by the pelvic bone. In women the nerve can pass through the pelvic bone, so when pregnant and the pelvis widens, it pushes on the nerve. Mine gets a bit worse at night, and i have to be careful 'walking' to the loo as cant put weight on it of it gives way. The joys. Mine has improved with my reduced activity, was worse between 3-6 months when I was trying to do everything. There are some hamstring stretches you can do, and maybe ask your Dr for advice too (which I didn't so let me know if they suggest anything useful) :D

Pigpen hope your hips ease up on you!

DD starts P1 today so I have to walk 1k to get there and back. I cant walk that far now and will be waddling (and moaning) at snails pace. Im going to be so fat and slow, I can feel the embarrassment already :(
Really hope the support belt helps.

  • Morning all,

I am struggling for motivation, need to clean today (i have myself a rota and becuase it was bank holiday i need to do Monday's and Tuesday's jobs today, oh joys!

Yummy i agree with Alison it sounds like sciatica to me, i get it relatvively regularaly becuase of a back condition but have been given respite in pregnancy so far. This is probably going to sound daft but i find that active rest is good, not sitting still for too long and not moving around for too long really helps, also, for me sitting with my pelvis straight (like on a diningroom chair rather than the sofa) helps as the pressure seems to ease.

Also, for me personally heat really helps - cold does nothing but a hot water bottle makes everything feel better :)

PP lmao with your description of your walk!!!!!! Made me think of the film Little Nicky and Hitler's fate lol

Elvis seems quite quiet at the moment, still getting movements at regular times and things, but definately more squirms than kicks, there must be very little room left in there! Only 12 days til due date!

Hope the Boldies are having baby cuddles very soon :)

    Morning ladies

Welcome to Sammy and crabapple

    Happy due date forumgrazer!

Massive labour vibes to boldies (unless they're already having mummy cuddles!)
how many baby clothes and what type of clothes are people buying.

    ive got about 10 babygrows/sleep suits in 0 - 3 month size
    1 x 2.5 tog sleeping bag in 0 - 6 month size
    7 x long sleeved vests again in 0 - 3 month size
and OH's gran is knitting is some cardigans for baby as well.

do i need more or can i just get more babygrows and have baby in them all the time?

I have around 6 newborn babygros, 6 0-3 babygros, 5 newborn vests, 5 0-3 vests and a couple of cute romper suits in newborn (which will do as "outfits" for those first few visitors!). Other than that, we'll need to go shopping. As we're team yellow, we've held back on clothes until we know whether he/she....... can't wait to buy blue or pink soon!!

Had ante-natal class at the weekend - didn't really learn anything. It was an NHS one - if I had my time again, I'd pay for NCT. It was very vague and disjointed - and the midwife was very pro-bfing (which is fine as I am planning on it, but didn't go into why/how it may be hard - just it's natural and what you should all do) and that baby should sleep with you (i.e. in the same bed) for first few months as that it what all other mammal species do!!

Had a few sharp twinges this weekend (probably not helped by 2 x 3 mile dog walks!) - guessing it's baby engaging further. BHs are getting stronger too.....

Last 4 days at work - 37+3 today! Not long to go now!!

    :T

    xDx
Fear is temporary, regret is forever.....

Morning all. Not been on much as it was DS1's birthday yesterday, we had family over on Sunday, then his birthday then today he has some friends over. Lord help me! Just hope the weather stays dry then these 7/8 year old lads can go out in the garden rather than trashing my house.

SPD has really hit with a vengeance now and it's getting me down along with the permanently all over my body itch. Grrrr someone hit me with a stick I don't like moaning but feel right fed up!

Oh my, i'm first on the list after the boldies!!!

Feeling slightly better today, had a goo ol' cry with hubby last night and told him all my fears and he just hugged me til i stopped blubbling like an idiot and told me whatever happens he will be there with me and it will all be ok. Oooohhh i do love him!

Well, i've decided i must go out today and am pleased i kept a coffee date with a friend. I have teh decorator coming back to do the second coat in about 20 mins, then i'm off to the park where there is a nice cafe to meet my friend. She got in touch via facebook and i haven't seen her since about 2002, so it should be lovely to meet her so much to catch up on. She has a little boy of 3, is now married and preggers with the second baby, 22 weeks gone i think. It will be nice to catch up and see how things have changed for both of us.

Will pop by later hugs and labour vibes to Kell, Lozzy and forumgrazer x x

Glad you're feeling better ecoelle x

Kandboys - im 37+6!!!!!!!!!! god its getting close now!

I popped to see my nan yesterday who was telling me some of the old wives tales her mum used to tell her when she was pregnant - 'dont cross your legs or the baby wont be able to breathe!!!' hahahaha and something about dangling a piece of yarn over your bump and if is swings to the left its a girl and if it swings to the right its a boy......im glad we have 20 week scans to end this confusion nowadays haha!

PJ's day again today i think, i honestly cannot be bothered to move, been up since 5.15 when oh got up for work and had to get him to haul my ever increasing bottom out of bed....i think my body will go into shock when its no longer fed every two minutes hehe x

I'm 26+4.... :) It's scary now. Just was getting used to the 'Wow, I'm pregnant' line of thought, now it's 'Oh crap, I'm giving birth soon'.
