I've found I'm starting to think about the labour a lot, now it's getting closer.....

I know this might be a stupid question, but if you wear glasses will they take them off? DH has been issued instructions to kick anyone who attempts to take my glasses off. I'm blinded in one eye, and remaining sight isn't great- and would hate if anything went wrong, and I can't see people's faces.... I know it's maybe a minor point, but I don't feel comfortable without being able to see, and contacts are usually out for me!

Its not stupid at all. Before i had lasik on my eyes, i was -6.5 in one eye and -5.75 in the other, which meant that i could see naff all without my glasses on- not even where my glasses were to put them back on again! Not only would having them taken off me have made me panic, bizarrely my hearing was worse when i didnt have them on, so i would probably have no clue on what people were saying either!
Luckily my Lasik got me to -1.5 and -2, so its alot better, but still i know what you are worried about!

Thanks Elmo, i was in a similar position to you to start with, they were constantly worrying that baby wouldn't grow properly, now they are saying although my bump measures right the measurements from the scans show a big baby, so i'm whittling now that baby just won't be able to fit out and that they'll let me go into labour only to tell me 20 odd hours in, yeah baby's too big lets do a section. Just want baby here safely is all. But getting fed up waiting, but want baby to hang on til September, but not too long into September, ie can i go into labour on Wednesday night please and have baby Thursday Morning in a water pool..thanks!

ive been watching birthing videos on the net...probably not the best idea! to be honest id prefer they give me a section as the thought of pushing something so big out of somewhere so small just makes me want to run and hide! I think if i do go for pushing - will find out on thursday whats going to happen im hoping?! - then i am deffo wanting an epidural.

Thanks Kira, as I've looked into Lasik in the past- but being blind already means I'm not exactly an ideal candidate!

Ecoelle...... you wanna see the size of me, i look like the side of a house, and i know i've not put weight on at all thro out the pregnancy so i'm presuming it's all baby and water, if this baby is less than 9lb i'll be amazed.
i'm due on Saturday and altho i want her here now, i also wanna hang on til September now, but only the begining,1st 2nd or 3rd will do me nicely thankyou. if she holds out the full 10 days then the chances are she'll be born on my sons birthday!!!
i was also feeling abit down, lasted all of ten minutes and i just feel angry now, i dont know why but i'm in the foulest of moods!
i've been having alot of discharge too, like a milky colour,no itching tho, cant remember having that either time before but when i mentioned it to the MW she didnt seem worried and even tho baby has been back to back since 36 weeks she doesnt want to see me again til i'm 3 days over?!?!?!?!?!
    Skint, but happy (ish):p

Lirin I've been wondering the same except I hate wearing glasses and wear contacts. Last time I saw the optician a couple of months ago she told me there was no way I'd be able to wear my lenses all the way through my pregnancy - well I'm 38 weeks now and still wearing them :rotfl:

I will cry if they make me take them out, I assume they will do if i have to have a c section for any reason though - I'm -6.50 in each eye so I can't see a flipping thing without them!

Babygros are great for the first few months, and they look so comfy!

You're due on the same day as me so baby will be born when it's cold so it's not like people would see little outfits when you're out anyway :)
