I am horrified this morning, is it possible to get small amounts of milk already? I woke up this morning with a white-ish solid stain on my top, right where my boob is :( infact right where my nipple is!

Will go read back while I await a more experienced member to tell me to stop being stupid :D

So, how many flat sheets for cot/moses basket should I have? So far, 4 flat sheets for cot and 2 for moses basket

    How many cuddle-dry towels? I have 3 - enough?

Do I need to spend more money at 37+3?

    xDx

Dh suggested last night that we include a note from Santa to DSD this year, saying that as she will start secondary school soon, this will be the last year he can buy her presents as he doesn't buy for bigger girls.

He still maintains we should tell her that Santa doesn't exist- that's probably not the best idea with a new arrival in the house in any case!

What a spoil sport your OH is!! Tell him to catch himself on! Does he want DSD crying on Christmas morning opening a letter from Santa saying she's getting no more presents? She probably suspects Santa doesn't exist anyway, but why not carry on the pretence for now, especially with a new baby in the house, the timing would be awful. At least he's got you to keep him right :D

Gilly, sounds normal to me. I've had milk in for months but no leaks thank goodness. You might need to use the breast pads already!!

Already  I don't like wearing a bra at night, my boobs are far too heavy during the day to have straps digging in at night too :(

OH's mum bought me loads of toiletries the other day, I'm sure there are some breast pads amongst it all. Boooo!

When we had our first DS nearly 9 years ago, we explained to DHs 2 DDs (7 and 10) that Santa wouldn't have room to carry as many presents for them as he had to bring some for the baby too. They were fine with that :)

Just having a sneaky 5 min catch up. I'm now 21+1 (ish - i think lol - i lost track - she's coming out end dec anyway!! lol)

    Congratulations to all new mummy’s!

Me and OH have (Kinda) sorted things – I’m still paranoid but I’m getting there! Hormones definitely aren’t helping!

Having an argument with the council – OH moved out so i *SHOULD* be entitled to the 25% discount but no – They want me to pay £112 a month (discount rate is £79!!) my “old” rate when OH was living with me was £120 so woo hoo I have £8 reduced from the bill (!!) they’re blaming an “admin error” – They want to shoot their admin, she’s useless! I’m entitled to Council tax and Housing benefit – get this – at the rate of . . . drum roll please ladies . . . . £3 a week!!! (Council and rent is actually £90.77 a week) so that whole £3 is REALLY going to make a difference eh! Apparently I earn too much – or so their admin has inputted – She’s put down that for a wage I am on £15 an hour – which would be nice, except I’m on £11 an hour – Meaning a difference of £277 a month lol She’s also kindly put my nursery fee’s at £283 a month for DD – When actually they are £315.

She’s a brilliant admin assistant don’t ya think . . . . I wonder if I could use “pregnancy hormones” as a defence for giving her a slap? lol or maybe.. “Sorry your honour but she deserved it . . . . . .“

To top my day off – I was on vacation from work last week – someone (I know who!!!) made a error in our office (another helpful admin!) and yet it’s me that’s had the earache for it . . . . apparently “how the hell was I supposed to know they had done it when I wasn’t even here” is not a valid reason lol

Regarding schools - My DD is 4 next week (such a big girl!) and doesnt start school until Next september (No more january in take in our area)

Regarding xmas - id still give the santa present, just downscale it

You could get some of those crop tops. They offer very little/no support but may hold a breast pad in place overnight. I wore the crop tops in bed during the first 12 weeks as my boobs seemed to hurt less when i wore them in bed.

Mimi you need to go to them and get that sorted out! That's insane.

I had a problem with HB once where they'd put my payslips from my p/t job in as weekly instead of monthly and declined to pay any HB at all... I had to give up my job just so as not to get evicted :(

I veto'd that idea- with a new baby, I don't want DSD feeling her Christmas is spoilt because it's not only the last one from Santa, it's also less attention as obviously baby will get a lot...

My suggestion was instead of setting ourselves up directly for a crying match, why not say nothing at all, and from next year on, do as my parents do (Yup, still get Santa presents at 30!) and scale it way down? What I get now is a stocking wrapped, but it's all useful stuff- socks, deodorant, hairbands- all the useful cheap stuff you always need.

He still maintains we should tell her that Santa doesn't exist- that's probably not the best idea with a new arrival in the house in any case!

I cant think of anything more mean TBH... Why would he want to deliberately upset his own daughter????

I am quite sure she already has her own doubts .. we still ALL believe in Santa.. and woe betide the child who tells me he isnt real.. we still have Santa presents at grand old ages in our family too.. why would he need to spoil things for her.. I gues it would make the chritmas memorable.. here you go.. have a baby and by the way santa doesnt exist so you wont be getting any presents any more... niiiice....

Those hooded towels are useless.. if you use the hood the baby only has its toes wrapped up... bath towels are thicker and better and you can wrap the whole baby up.. I have 2 towels which has been ample for all of mine.

Flat sheets.. unless you intend using a top sheet they are a waste of money. they dont work as a bottom sheet as the baby wriggling just pulls them straight off.

fitted sheets.. we have 4 for the basket and 4 for the cot.
