I tried to put on a maternity top that I haven't worn for about 3 or 4 weeks yesterday and threw an almighty paddy when it didn't fit!

Gilly, I'm only 24 weeks, and I've probably had more calls from my Mum so far than in the last 15 years! We are a close family, but I've warned DH (who doesn't believe me and will get a shock) that closer to the EDD, these will increase to near hourly calls, followed by my Dad being dispatched on the hour-long drive if I fail to answer....

Amamda, good luck for the scan. I'd have loved a 3d/4d one, but the price in NI is 4x higher than England....

Oh it's nothing to do with maternity or babies Lirin she's just a pain in the a!se. We don't get on at the best of times, and the thought of 5 days with her has probably sent my blood pressure through the roof!

OH's mum has been phoning me loads and I think she'l probably be camped outside the house once I have the baby, but she's one of the nicest women I know, so I know it's only because she cares :o

Speaking of maternity clothes... I'm still in all my usual clothes, but jeans that I could pull down without unbuttoning last week  are now a bit tight, so I assume it's coming!

I am in some of my own jeans, I have a nice pair in a 16 from peacocks which are quite roomy, but my Next 16 ones are out now as they have got tight and weren't hipsters lol. I've dug out one maternity pair from last time, I had a few that didn't fit me well last time and so have got to be ebayed... Not that I'm slow or anything... the baby is one year old and they are still in the drawer :o

I've yet to find my favourite pair though, am going to ask OH to take Squeak to see DSD next time all the older girls go out so that I can actually get into the bedroom and sort through it without having anyone needing naps in there!

Still it's a nice excuse to have a look about for some new ones, although there don't seem to be many shops here that do maternity sadly. Last time I had a couple of really nice Next pairs from ebay cheap, I might toddle off back there for another look.
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o

Claire I hope your absence means your little one has turfed up too.

Nope, I'm still here. Congrats on becoming a fellow boldie:D

The consultant did a sweep for me yesterday morning (very uncomfortable but not really painful) but couldn't reach the cervix despite having a good rummage:eek: He did say he was able to massage baby's head though which freaked me out- no idea why, its not like I don't know that there's an actual baby in there:rotfl:So I expected pains, and maybe a show to appear all day yesterday but nada. Though last night my bump was extremely hard for a few hours, very active and I felt a lot of pressure and discomfort in my pelvis. I kind of panicked a little thinking this was the start of things but after lying down I fell asleep and have woken up feeling back to square one this morning. I'm booked in for an induction next Wednesday if nothing happens but fingers crossed I go into labour myself in the meantime. I'm a little worried now as I did panic last night at the thought of something happening so maybe I'll not cope as well as I'd hoped too when the time does actually come:(

Well I thought something might be happening last night. Had quite noticeable (but not too painful) cramping when I went to bed and then at about 5 this morning I woke up with the same thing. But of course, its gone completely again now. But for the first time in nearly 4 weeks of maternity leave I am actually looking forward to a day in the house, not seeing anyone or doing anything much at all. This is quite unlike me so I wonder if I'm subconsciously retreating into my little nest ready for LO's arrival. Either that or I'm just so knackered I CBA to do anything else :rotfl:

Snap:D Both on the bad night and the feeling knackered. I've gone from being an insomniac this past week to just wanting to sleep now at every opportunity. I wish my body would make its mind up.

I hope all goes well for JCR today, I'm looking forward to hearing news of her little one.

I had more to say but I can't remember anything else now so apologies, I'm not ignoring anyone as I love reading everyones posts about what they're up to.

I'm 17+3 today and still in normal clothes... Am starting to think about maternity clothes but need to wait until payday next Friday to be able to do anything about it!

Have got a cheeky mid-week day off work today, my mum is coming up for the day so we're going to have a mother-daughter day, maybe go mooch round Mothercare, and if she's lucky, I'll even let her buy me lunch :rotfl:

I've been wearing maternity clothing since 6-7 weeks- my fault, as I like tight jeans and didn't see the point in buying a size or two bigger just for a few weeks- just switched straight to maternity.
